Scratch my request for comments! I figured out how to apply SwingRaysb2 to the Super Smoother, and feel a bit foolish.

1. Add the SwingRays indicator, and choose the same panel as the irAdaptiveCCIv2.
2. Edit the input on the SwingRays indicator to source irAdaptiveCCIv2 (changed from the price)
3. Choose the SuperSmoother as the plot, and match the parameters for your irAdaptiveCCIv2.

Done!

@milehightrader and @casey44 I haven't made any of the changes either of you suggested.
However, shortly after my original post in response to the request by @mk77ch I did go back and correct the issue with the background coloring.
My bad for not coming back and reposting the corrected version I have included here.

Trade well,
John B.

Thanks for sharing this awesome indicator. it's much appreciated. are there any outputs for the MA color changes
that can be used in the strategy builder?

Thanks in advance.

If I understand your question correctly the "MA" you are referring to is the "Super Smoother" that was built into the indicator.

I'm not that familiar with using "Strategy Builder" in NT-8 as most of my work has been focused more on simply writing a strategy.

Having said that you should be able to use a Rising / Falling condition in your strategy to implement a signal based on the "MA" color changes.

I wish I could be more helpful.

You should ask your question in the "Want your NinjaTrader STRATEGY created for free?" thread.

Hi,
I have been using the NT7 version of this indicator for some time but my attempts to migrate to the latest NT8 version are not succeeding, probably because of my backwardness in NT8. I keep getting compile errors in my strategy that addresses this indicator. How do you correctly call irAdaptiveCCIv2 ? Thanks.

You need to post some screenshots/code and give more detail if you want help.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what is the CCI adapting to ?
Surely all indicators adapt to price, or am I missing something ?

@wBobby: The author is probably the best to answer this question, but I'll take a stab at it using the authors own statement(s) in their previous posts you can reference:

From January 19th, 2021 05:38 AM:
"I liked that it seemed to reduce some of the "Noise" I was seeing on the standard CCI and
I liked that the Ehlers Super Smoother was more responsive than the 34EMA of a 14period CCI was for momentum and directional clues."

So, an ehlers super smoother formulae was used in place of a 34 period EMA, which creates a CCI "Super Smoother". Thus, "it seemed to reduce some of the "Noise" I was seeing on the standard CCI" and hence the "Adaptive" CCI part.

You are correct in that the indicator is driven by price, but the term "adaptive" is applied to CCI for the purpose of noise elimination, momentum and directional clues.
