DOM column Volume is a great volume profile and I see you are looking to increase capabilities but have not seen any type of listing. Here is my short list;

version to restrict to input number of bars so it can just show the last bars volume
Filter to cull skip the under 3 contracts
Capability for having both real volume and percent on the same volume profile

Buy vs Sell background for price level highlighting if more buy vs sell. You allow the separation and coloring of the buy vs sell but when it is close - i.e... 45 / 55 the visual is not easy - can you color the backgound beyond the bar volume in a lighter shade of which is in control

Market profile (time based alphabet) version

And of course you are surely looking at the basics of POC and VWAP. Expect you will deliver one but not both. VWAP is preferable since some contracts target that. Then can you add an alert when that level changes?

I prefer not putting these suggestions in forums for voting if avoidable since there are probably some already requested.
Again it would help if there was a list of expected updates AND expected delivery dates so I do not ask for someo f these changes on Futures.io

Also can you PLEASE make the notes column a variable setting? I only use it as a 3 digit field. Every time I adjust anything in the columns it creates a much larger field that needs to be adjusted down. A simple field would solve that and save a lot of annoyance.

Real-time data handling only. We did research adding historical tick data but are unable to do so, as it requires every aspect of the IB adapter to be re-written which we, unfortunately, cannot do at this time. On the specific issues, I don’t have the details of the case in front of me but I could ask my product manager to review the case and get back to you, would you have a ticket ID of the last correspondence so I could pass it on to do so? Thank You.

Thanks

1947386 - discussed the pop up errors Thu 30/08/2018 17:39 however the thread was mainly due to constant connection problems between NT8 and IB and IQfeed.

Ninjatrader has really been very good and am glad they have added fantastic order flow tools however the poor performance I have been having with Ninja really makes me question why am still using this platform. Last week on Friday I spent the entire day trying to get it running proper with absolutely no success. I would load and connect and then it lags saying it loading data (mind you this is just on one instrument but plotting 5 different bar types/time frames with custom order flow indicators). Then before that, everytime RTH opened it completely fails because ninja starts delaying as soon as markets open and the delay lags as far back as 2 hours by the time we into 3 hours of a trading session. And now to add to the frustrations, I now get weird redraw of non time based bar types when I zoom out and resize bar width on my charts!

I have used Sierra Chart many times before and it works like wonders no matter how much you might throw at it. But because I have developed my tools and strategy around ninja I would really hate to have to change platforms. Is there way to seriously improve these performance issues?

@NinjaTrader

Performance issues are usually related to custom indicators or scripts. We are happy to help isolate and resolve your issue. Please email my support team and include in the subject "FIO Performance". I will let them know you are coming.

@NinjaTrader

Sorry I have to hit you with a dose of reality here but I consider it a favor.

Your problems are all user error.

You simply do not understand NinjaTrader well enough and your equipment is most probably not very robust.

Below is an image from Sept 17 of my 6 screen trading machine. NT8 is running 39 charts from 10 sec to weekly timeframes. All run just fine. Yes the RTH is closed in the pic but I assure you I run NT8 like this 23.5 hrs a day during the week. Plus Chrome with my news feed and PriceSquawk on 8 markets outside of NT8.

I have zero problems and 32 of these charts are tick base 10 of which have 10 days of tick data loaded.

I say this to you to help you understand that NT8 is a very fine piece of software. Superior IMHO to most.

You absolutely must know how to keep it running smoothly...healthy. AND you must have well written software running inside it. PERIOD THE END.

You only get what you pay for in this world. (Don't worry the spiritual world is very different but that is another story entirely.) Please don't think free indicators from the web are something you should be using, solely.

NT8 has an indicator on here that moves NT8 to priority = high. This seems like a good feature to include as an option in the general tab or even as an automatic setup in NT8.

Thanks

Hmm, unless having run queue greater than the available physical cores on the machine I don't think you'll see any difference. Also there could be unpredictable side effects in rising processes priorities.

@sam028, you are certainly more qualified than I to discern these issues. But wouldn't making it an option in the general tab allow it to then start in high priority on next startup?

At a minimum I would hope Ninjatrader would test it to see if it can be done.

It would be easier to replace the Ninja shortcut by a PowerShell command file which will:
- launch NinjaTrader.exe
- get NinjaTrader.exe process ID and change its priority (all done with Get-Process)
