I would like to ask @NinjaTrader why it takes so long to get bugs fixed and the general complaints process.

There is a Bug with Apex/Travovate and the Trade Performance not working correctly. This is raised many times and documented on the forums since around July 2023. It's still faulty today.

There is a bug with Historical data since 20th January. Despite many people reporting it, it is still faulty today. NT Support staff will not commit to fixing it with any firm of assurance or dates.

Generally, there is no platform for a complaint. No specific button. No senior staff to reply to complaints.
The process seems to be that complaints are done in the general forum, a different member of the team pick it up and responds with a general thank you but we don't know when or if it will be fixed.
If another individual highlights a problem, then process starts again from the beginning.

It's like banging your head against a brick wall.
Anyone on a monthly contract can walk away onto another platform, but those valuable customers thst committed to lifetime fees and supported the ecosystem with indicators and such are getting screwed over.

We understand that dealing with issues or bugs can be frustrating, and we appreciate you raising this.

Regarding the bug on the Trade Performance feature relative to Apex/Tradovate, we want to assure you that our team is actively working on this. We understand that these issues have been ongoing for a while, which is far from ideal. That said, some bugs can be more challenging to resolve than others, especially when they involve integrations with third-party services.

The bug with our historical data servers was resolved shortly after it was reported, however if the bad data is stored locally on your device it will still appear. To resolve, you may need to delete and reload historical data. To do so, navigate to \Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db. then select the "cache", "minute", and "tick" folder and delete them. Upon restart you can reload historical data and it should resolve. If you have issues, our support team would be happy to assist via a remote session and can be reached at [email protected].

Regarding the complaint process, we acknowledge that our current system may not be as effective or transparent as it could be. We are considering implementing a more streamlined and transparent process for handling complaints and bug reports, and appreciate your feedback.

If you want to be transparent, how about creating a dashboard showing the feature requests / bug reports and the number of votes it has received and if you have any intention of implementing/fixing them and if so, an ETA? Currently there are numerous threads going back years with people still adding their vote on a feature requests, but yet Ninjatrader is saying that there is not enough demand, when in reality it looks like it is just as way for NT to make customers feel that their "vote" mean something and to stop the conversation, when NT has no intention of doing something about it.

Strange playback behavior.

A long time NT user and mostly NT7.
I've been trying to upgrade to NT8

I finally ported most of my important indicators and strategies to NT8 (Desktop Version)
I have been reasonably satisfied with the upgrade and decided I would try the newer 8.0.2.8 version.
I was surprised to see the fact that I need to login each time rather than just start as with the desktop version.
(a minor issue but not exactly what I like or is needed IMO)

After the upgrade I decided to do some playback testing of some of my strategies and indicators this weekend.
I was surprised to see the connection to the NT servers drop several times during the playback.
This caused my charts to pause until the connection was restored. (several times)
WTH?

Is this because NT8 needs a continuous connection to NT servers with the new version?
I'm doing a LOCAL playback and have downloaded the data needed.
There should be no reason to have my playback stopped because the connection to the historical servers dropped.

Was this just a 'one off' issue and not something that will be an issue during weekend and strange hours?

I was unaware of that information.

I do a lot of international traveling by air.
Airlines that have wifi, it is at extra cost and is not available very far off shore from USA.

Does that mean I can't use NT8.1 for Airline travel without paying for internet service that ends 50 miles offshore?

There must be a work-a-round for this?
