It works well on 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and 2016.
I'll avoid Windows 10, it's heavier than server Windows server versions and it's tricky to avoid the mandatory updates and their unsolicited reboots.
Hi @sam028 - would your recommendation be the same as of Dec2022? am contemplating VPS options and educating myself. Any guidance and pointers to authoritative tutorials/guides appreciated.
Similar recommendations yes, while you can remove Windows 2008 R2 as it's look & feel looks old (but stays pretty reliable), and add Windows 2019/2022.
Honestly there's no need of tutorials/guides, it's extremely simple.
You can check the short and very old video (10 years !) I've made here or a more recent one showing the access from a web browser here.
If you know how to log on, and how to copy files from your own desktop to the VPS, that's it, you're an expert, there's not much more to know.
