Kudos to the NinjaTrader 8 development team for these set of tools, they did a fabulous job! Well designed, easy to use, and allows the trader to see (or not) whatever is required for their individual trading requirements.
Personally, I only use the Order Flow Volume Profile indicator (usually day or session range) and the Order Flow Volume Profile drawing tool (flexible range). I now trade CL and GC using these tools exclusively and have eliminated all other indicators, except for TSSuperTrend and ParabolicSAR indicators, which I only use to trail runners. But as far as trade entries, I don't need anything else except volume profile. Got rid of moving average, oscillator, momentum, and all other indicators from my chart. No fibs or SnR lines as well, except for those levels created by the volume profile indicator (i.e. naked POC / VA, etc.).
But I do regret that I missed this webinar. Hope it will be available soon for viewing.
Ninjatrader has really been very good and am glad they have added fantastic order flow tools however the poor performance I have been having with Ninja really makes me question why am still using this platform. Last week on Friday I spent the entire day trying to get it running proper with absolutely no success. I would load and connect and then it lags saying it loading data (mind you this is just on one instrument but plotting 5 different bar types/time frames with custom order flow indicators). Then before that, everytime RTH opened it completely fails because ninja starts delaying as soon as markets open and the delay lags as far back as 2 hours by the time we into 3 hours of a trading session. And now to add to the frustrations, I now get weird redraw of non time based bar types when I zoom out and resize bar width on my charts!
I have used Sierra Chart many times before and it works like wonders no matter how much you might throw at it. But because I have developed my tools and strategy around ninja I would really hate to have to change platforms. Is there way to seriously improve these performance issues?
Does the new Volume Profile Indicator including developing POC & Value Area work with back testing?
For example, does it work with Shark Indicators Bloodhound?
