Hey guys, I'm writing to ask if it's ok if I post on here to tell people about something I've created for NT7 and NT8 for an alerts system. I want to be respectful of these forums and don't want to overstep boundaries, so I'm trying to be careful and ask. However I'm really trying to help people by what I've created and I can't help as many people if they don't know about it , and I'm just trying to get some beta testers to help test it and use it completely free so I thought it might be ok. I won't say anymore because I first want to make sure this is ok to post this sort of thing here with the hope that it will help people a lot and will help make my (very new) service better!
If I hear it's ok I'll give more details.
Thanks a lot ahead of time!
Paul
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hey guys, I thought many of you would enjoy and benefit from this thread. My intention is to have each poster reply and describe in as much detail as possible an indicator they want created for NinjaTrader.
I get a lot of requests for help building strategies. Many of which are repeats of other requests. I am starting this thread to handle many of these requests as the public building and revising of strategies would certainly help the community. Please …
Then either place your item here or post here where you put it.
Thanks a lot guys for the help! I did read the disclaimer and I think I'm ok since I'm not a vendor or anything and it's just testing out a free indicator, so I posted on the indicators page:

The programmers on the forum (there are many), …
I asked the question there too, but do you guys know if I can include a link to my site where people can sign up to be beta testers and also a link to the YouTube demo? I didn't post them for fear of violating anything. I might be overly paranoid but I just want to respect the purpose of the forum.
I think you would be fine there it lots of free testing and even some individuals will create indicators if it will benefit the forum. I would make sure that you're transparent with what your doing and that it stays free. If the idea is to tests here and then turn around and charge people then I'm sure it will leave a bad impression..
Just ask/post and if people want to participate then they will!
That helps a lot guys thank you! Ok so I will add even more detail to be as transparent as possible and I'll update my post on the Free Indicators page to match this. BTW I'm not sharing any files on this forum so no worries about sharing dlls. Once you sign up you'll be able to download the indicator at that time from my site.
So I am a day trader who had a problem with alerts. I really wanted call and text alerts rather than the terribly clunky NT7 alerts that took way too long to add and edit and could only email or play a sound. I wanted fast, efficient alerts that could call and text as well as email. I searched and found nothing, but I'm a programmer as well so I just made one. I thought it was so cool that I let my best friend use it for the last year to make sure I wasn't biased, and it helped him a lot too. So my plan is this:
Get 100 people to sign up as beta testers and use for a few months completely free, no hidden BS. BTW once I got to 50 signed up we could start
Once we've tested for a few months, since it actually does cost me money to send calls and texts, I would then turn it into a subscription based service
The service would have a free level that I would convert any beta testers who choose to stay, so it would still be completely free, just more limited to keep my costs down.
I'd have probably 2 more levels of increasing functionality where I would charge a small amount for, with the highest having unlimited functionality
I'm truly trying to create a win-win for everyone and if people only want to beta test for free and then use the free version they can totally do that. Mainly I feel like if people test for free they'll get a lot of value out of it and in the meantime hopefully give me great feedback so I can make it even better. I'm not selling anything, and I'd never charge anyone who didn't choose eventually to sign up (and if they chose to do so they must feel the value is there). But again I don't want to price gouge, just a reasonable amount where my goal is to have it be a no brainer for people to want to sign up. I want to help a lot of people and eventually if it proves to be a big enough help, I feel like it's fair to charge a small amount.
But I'm happy to answer any and all questions anyone might have and I have nothing to hide, I want to be as transparent as possible.
Thanks again for all of your feedback so far, I really appreciate it!
You have your answer. If you try to promote something here that you ever even think you might, one day, possibly, sort of kind of sell in the future, you will be banned.
Zero tolerance for for vendors promoting in forums.
