ninja trader with the final software ad on is the lest expensive . IRT Market Delta Xtrader Motive Wave all have a lot more goodies. if money is no problem Window Trader Blue and CQG are the gold standard
I would say it depends on what other functionality you're looking for besides Volume/Market Profile. If you're willing to put in a couple of weeks learning a new software, I would suggest SierraChart, which has just about every indicator you can think of and just about every aspect of SierraChart can be customized, it is not very expensive either (about 25-35 a month depending on which package you choose). You can also look at NinjaTrader, CQG Products (These can get really expensive), Trading Technologies is really good as well (It does cost a lot, however).
I personally use SierraChart and made the switch from CQG IC (Integrated Client) and am pretty happy as I am an order flow trader who primarily uses the DOM and TPO for entries, along with Pivot Points.
No i am using NT7 with Rancho Dinero tools for volume profiling. However, i did used IRT when i started to study volume profile as the person from who i learned was using it. I really liked it even better than NT but as i had bought Ninja $800 and Rancho's tools near $900 at that time i wanted to profit from this investment as much as possible. In my opinion it is as powerful as Sierra chart but much easier to master and it has features that Sierra has not which are quite useful. If i were to start all over i would not hesitate to use IRT specially that it has evolved quite a bit since then.
