I am a lifetime license holder for Ninjatrader and I found a forum video on here from back in January of this year on accident while reading up on order flow software companies. It was talking about NT8 having its own version of Order Flow? Does anyone use it? Is it any good? Is the training good? Is there associated fees on top of being a lifetime NT license holder? Etc. Also comparing it to OFA, which is better? I have demo with OFA in the past (never bought it) and liked it. HOWEVER if its similar as NT8 built in version, seems highly unnecessary for me to purchase OFA (software is 1K and I think the training costs as well) when NT8 might be free and be better. Looking for all opinions in this subject. Thanks!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Regarding NinjaTrader: The orderflow tools are available on NT8 starting on version 12. I think they are up to version 14 at this point. So any version between 12 and 14 will have these. These tools are available for free for lifetime license holders, but I am not sure about lease holders.... Either way, since you have the lifetime license you should be fine.
The best play for you would be to use NT for free, then demo other options (30 day trails, etc.) and then determine if it is worth it to pull the trigger on something else. I wouldn't for example, pull the trigger on $1,000 for a separate order flow system until I fully flushed out what NT can and or can't do, and what the other system can and can't do.
Make sense?
Best of luck!
Ian
In the analytical world there is no such thing as art, there is only the science you know and the science you don't know. Characterizing the science you don't know as "art" is a fools game.
Don't get too caught up in "Order Flow" tools. At the end of the day it is just information. I have painfully lived through Footprint, Depth Map and even the Jigsaw suite. I got tangled in its ugliness and I found it to be of little use with …

stay away from OFA . they keep selling stuff until you say uncle. it may cost more to up date to ninja 9 than you payed the first time. any third party software vendor can go out of business at any time and you lose your support for the software. there training sucks . like you i thought they were grate in the beginning . the more i got to know them the less i like them. i payed 10,000 for life time training, software and support in 2011. i sure did not get that. they have know order book heat map. hope it helps
What company do you ever support?
OFA hasn't changed much in several years. What are you talking about them selling?
Nearly every post you make about any company is negative.
