With respect to ACH, I do have a tradestation futures account and can fund it with ACH. It is also an equities account so perhaps that is why.

The fact that I have to pay $25 a wire fee is not the primary issue. As of this morning, they still had not turned on my data feed. I had to call them at 5 AM my time to get them to do it. You'd think, since I added funds at 5 AM yesterday over wire and expressed frustration at the lack of market data, someone would have followed up. That's Ninjatrader though for you--that is has been my recent experience with their customer service.

A bigger issue is I spent over $1K on this license but I have to subscribe to Tradovate's market replay. Ninjatrader's Level 2 market replay data is almost always corrupt, which makes using it as a tool learning almost impossible. Apparently, they've known about this data corruption issue for almost a year but it hasn't been fixed.

If you spent over $1K on Adobe and a significant piece of its ability to edit images didn't work, would you be happy?

For some reason, in this business people don't hold vendors accountable for providing a product. In my experience, this is largely because of hopium and all the other emotional aspects of trading. They aren't buying a product, they are buying a hope.

This is year 3 for me. I am finally profitable on my other accounts. One thing that has shifted for me in my trading journey has been setting aside my hope that it works and starting to view it as a business. If I was starting a business and a vendor charged me $1K and didn't deliver what they said they were going to, I would hold them accountable.

When you throw the absence of a working market replay in with the higher commission rates, the only advantage I can see is the ninjatrader ecosystem.

IMHO market replay is not going to help.... not one bit..... actually it does the exact opposite.... it does harm and delays.

The only way I know how to deal with uncertainty is through actually being immersed in it and using the feedback from your emotions and feelings to create confidence intervals per trade... the real LIVE market not in sim not in level 2 playback not with historical bars etc.

I was in sim too long.... only good for learning one’s tools

Maybe it could be ok for testing a new tool if you don’t have time during the live market RTH.

IMHO NT8 is a great tool and good value.... but does require routine maintenance including but not limited to remaking chart templates, remaking workspaces and repairing the db.

Most traders using NT don’t understand this and when you don’t you can’t make sense of all the little odd behavior that grow and grow and you end up thinking NT7 or NT8 is crap.

But once you remake templates and workspaces all is perfect again.

So make sure you have fresh charts and a fresh workspace to reduce any error as best you can. Repair the db too just to hedge yourself asymmetrically before your replay.

Ditch Ninja and get MotiveWave. Then check out Stage5 or Cannon Trading. Canon rocks, but your mileage may vary.

I will be opening up an account with another futures broker this week.

In your opinion, what is so special about Cannon Trading? Why does it rock vs. other IBs?

Others are welcome to comment as well.

Thanks in advance.

Moving from Tradestation?

I will still keep an account there, but I have been trading elsewhere lately.

While TS was lagging heavily last week with my particular set-up, MultiCharts was working pretty well at IB.

With interest rates rising and the Fed unwinding some, we could see some heavy volume this year.

I am also very disappointed with the new TS 10.0 version.

Also, I want to try some platforms that are new to me, like TT and Rithmic, to see what kind of fills and latency I get.

As you know, the only real way to tell about fills is trading RT.
