I have had this problem as well, and manually deleting was not the best solution. I think what you should do is the following:
(a) Rename your folder Own Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 to Own Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 Old
(b) Then start NinjaTrader and it will create a new folder with the default settings. Shutdown NinjaTrader again.
(c) You can now copy relevant information from the old folder to the new one
- copy all folders from NinjaTrader 7 Old -> bin -> Custom to the newly created one, but do not copy the files in this directory
- copy the entire folders NinjaTrader 7 Old -> db, NinjaTrader 7 Old -> templates and NinjaTrader 7 Old -> workspaces
(d) Then start NinjaTrader. Edit one of the indicators and compile via F5.
You will now have a clean setup without the assemblies and can reimport any assemblies that you need. In the process you will have lost some settings:
- instrument settings (session templates, rollover dates, offsets)
- customized session templates
- connections
but your workspaces and chart templates as well as your database should be there.
(e) If the procedure did not work, you can go back and try again. Delete the new folder and rename the (so far unchanged) folder NinjaTrader 7 Old back to NinjaTrader 7.
I am personally switching folders often, as I have several setups with different datafeeds.
