Rejected at RMS - Total sell quantity of contract would exceed its limit
Hello, I trade ES and I just started a demo account on NT7 through TopStepTrader to practice for its combine.
I am totally new to this platform and was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple things?
First, when I go to place limit orders and stop limit orders, it says this message "Rejected at RMS - Total sell quantity of contract would exceed its limit affected order. Sell limit @ (it says here whatever price you tried to place the limit at).
I'm not sure what that means exactly and was hoping for some clarification? Thanks
Also, are you able to place limit orders outside of the DOM and if so, how do you do that because the only way I can see to do it, is through placing them within the prices that are shown on their DOM.
Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
1. Which combine did you subscribe ?
How many contracts is the order you are trying ?
2. you can enter orders on the chart trader, open a chart, click on the logo on the top banner
use the buttons on the right
or use the mouse anywhere on the chart and click right, select the right order
1. I subscribed to the 150k one and I am trying 10 contracts on the limits that I am attempting to place.
As the max position size you can have is 15 contracts, does that mean I can't have 2 limits set up of 10 contracts?
That is correct, you can have only a total of 15 open positions (orders + positions)
any attempt to add an order that theoretical would put you above the 15 will be rejected
I think (but i'm not sure), if you reverse a position of 15 contracts, it will be refused also
because a reverse is, if you are short, a buy long of 30, you would have to close and
then do the 15, reversing 7 would work..., as 2 x 7 is 14 and still below the 15, provided
that you have not more than 1 other contract open maximum
Right click in the SuperDOM and disable "Auto Center", then you can scroll to whatever price you wish to submit your order at.
