quote from @NinjaTrader "We have some reports of users that have crosshair performance issues. We had made improvements a release or two ago which helped many of these users but not all. R13 is coming out within a week which includes additional performance improvements for the crosshair."

Next week.

Release 13 (8.0.13.0) was released this morning.

I installed it this afternoon, and could test the cursor lag issue during the ES pit close around 4:00 ET, which is a high-volume time, and it worked well enough. Still a tad twitchy it seemed, but now it's usable. During the lunch hour, a low-volume time, it was useless under Release 12.

So I'm checking this one off as fixed.

Bob.

NT8.13 is working fine for me, but several friends are having big issues and had to move back to 12.
Nt has ack'd it is an issue and pushed it back to Development.

A question for NT Ray. What is the process for checking out releases? Generally your updates are very good, but NT 8 has had its challenges.

I sit in a private trade room that has 6 people on NT 8. I think that I might be the only one that does not have issues with NT8. I am pretty sure that the users in this room would be happy to do beta testing for you. I am pretty sure that we could give feedback in a couple of days and we could work with your Dev Team on cleaning it up.

Thanks
Bob

I'm amazed that the crosshair (which I'm very used to and dependent on) is VERY slow and lagging on NT8. I have it installed on a brand new computer. NT7 had no issues with this at all.

It seems like I have version 8.0.10.0 (installed 2 weeks ago as a demo version). I will try to update tonight and see if this is better.

I see that this was first reported as a problem around 2 years ago...

Is anyone else having problems with the NT8 DOM? Mine has been locking up for several weeks on the ES, only. NT "Support" says I'm the only one in the World.

I recently did a clean Windows 10 / NT8 install; same problem - immediately. No infrastructure changes on my end; 20mb up - 200mb down - 55ms to Chicago. PC is over-kill.

For a guy like me who use Ninja only for charting and execution I'm starting to wonder if there is any advantages with NT8 over NT7 at all?

How can something as simple and basic as a crosshair become worse from one version to the next? And take over a year to resolve...?

The only advantage I've discovered is the possibillity to tile up charts in the same window, i.e., Excel style with tabs/sheets.

Not to mention the huge amount of indicators and stuff already available for NT7.

I originally started looking at trading on NT7 and thought it was pretty decent. The strategy builder (at that time I had zero coding experience) was really helpful.

I only played around with NT8 for a few hours, but it seemed to be a huge step back. I was considering getting something other than Multicharts .NET but NT8 soured me on that idea almost immediately.

Hi,

If you want to use tabs with NT7 take a look at this:

Add Tabs to Any Application - WindowTabs

Cheers

How is Multicharts then? Not quite happy there either since you were considering something else?

I know there have been many complaints among NT users, but I've been one of those who had mostly positive experiences with the platform and have grown to love it (NT7). I'm starting to have second thoughts with NT 8 though.

Thanks! Are you using that with NT yourself?

I know there's an indicator/code on this forum that provides the same functionality, but since I'm not Elite (at least not yet), I can't access it.
