What hardware do you have ?
can you test it again and look at the load on your cores ? (there are a few free tools around, that let you visualize that), in the past NT 7 would be at max speed and your machine (if it's a big one), would be at 15% load, means i can produce faster results if well programmed with that hardware. if NT 8 is to the promise, you should see a lot more load on your machine, possible that 1000x times, is the peak of your hardware ?

of course there are other bottlenecks, do you have an SSD ? if not the HD can be the bottleneck

with performance monitor, you could see if there is a CPU resource that is peaked out
or if NT8 does not use all the power available.. this would then be an architecture issue
where a bottle neck is created in the software

Sure, I understand the point you're making but honestly, replay speed is the least of my concerns - I was more curious/concerned as to whether NT8 improves things such as granularity or data reliability when trading in Market Replay.

I heard some users here complaining about unreliability of the MR engine on NT7, that's why I wondered.

I think something may be going on with the HDS servers for NT8 today. I am getting constant connection lost/re-connections and it's not due to my internet connection. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem today? I have looked over many faults in NT, but the inability to keep stable connections to the servers is near the range of unforgivable.

I've been having this strange problem myself, on and off. Not due to internet connection given the other internet things work fine, but when it comes to the trading data feeds, I often have been getting issues.

Mind you, I am on two different platforms and use mostly NT7, so this would not apply to NT8.

Absolutely agree it's not ready for general release. Very much feels like paying users are being used for integration and system testing on a product that is still in development. Most recent issue is ninjatrader sending too many historical requests to iqfeed and not detecting that iqfeed is returning an error message stating there are too many historical requests. The backtest continued and completed as it was successful which it certainly was not due to data not being supplied for multiple instruments. Whilst it's being investigated this is very much something I'd expect to work flawlessly as iqfeed is an advertised data feed, the initial support response was very unhelpful and stated there's nothing ninjatrader can do and I should limit my historical requests, was not impressed whatsoever.

I´ve had the same issue with NT7.
After talking to NT, the broker and my internet provider I´ve found out to my shame, that my LAN cable had a buckle.
I´ve bought a new cable and evrything is fine now. Not to say that that is your reason, but I could have saved a lot of energy looking at that in the first place...

Did your other internet stuff (i.e. Youtube, web surfing, etc.) work, even with this LAN cable buckle?

No, actually not. This was the reason, why I´ve thought it must be NT....

To confirm: no internet services worked (YouTube did not work, web browsing did not work, NinjaTrader did not work) and you thought it was an NT issue?

Just trying to clarify.

No, the opposite. Everything was fine, the internet services worked, but i have been thrown out by NT constantly..."connection lost"....
A new cable has helped. Must not be the real reason, but it has looked like...
