There is an unsupported (don't even think about asking for help) hack for Ninja 6.5 if you are constantly running out of memory due to the .NET memory limitations (Ninja crashes around 1.5GB of memory use).

It has fixed about 90% of the crashes I was experiencing (and I experienced them daily, many times hourly).
Still, no hack can address the major flaws and shortcomings on NT. While I don't hold much hope for NT 7, I am reluctant to switch to TradeStation because I think that is a backwards move. I'm more interested in MultiCharts, and I think they are growing at leaps and bounds and making huge advancements in a short period. But, they have a lot of advancing left to do.
Last, I agree NT support tries and is quick. But, they are either untrained, understaffed, or my main conspiracy theory is that none of the programmers are under the same roof and they don't read the forums and/or they are really not good programmers. I feel as though the support staff tries and tries but simply cannot make up for the utter lack of experienced programmers that know how to create a decent, stable app.
This is the opposite of most companies. Most companies have pretty sold programming staff and absolutely horrific customer service. I've seen no evidence Ray @ NT plans to address any of these concerns unfortunately.
Actually yes, slippage can work out in your favor.
Suppose you had a buy stop at 906.25, the ES flashes and 906.25 trades, but by the time your market order is ready to be processed everybody who wanted to buy the quarters is all gone and you get filled at 906.
Pretty sweet huh? Happens about 1 in 100 times for me.

you should look at NeoTicker by Tickquest https://www.tickquest.com/ . Programs in C#, Delphi and Formula language. It does the heaviest lifting in terms of number crunching i have seen out there. I started on Tradestation and out grew it. ps. yes I own Neoticker and I am a NT user as well. Neo does my main chart work, NT does my order execution. I am more of a discrentionairy trader.
Unless you are a computer guru don't change. Neoticker can literally do anything chart related, but you need to understand programing. It is VERY powerful. the thing it lacks is the DOM execution which NT does very nicely. They are two very different programs.
Like Mike, I agree with most of what you are saying here.
There is no question that NT needs to get their act together on the programming side of things. No doubt NT7 will still have major room for improvement, but at least it does appear that they have eliminated the worst issues such as access/jet db and the memory leaks.
What I don't understand is why you would continue using the strategy analyzer while you have another live strategy open, when you know it will lead to memory leak and ultimately NT crashing. I think all of us here know that when using the strategy analyzer its only a matter of time before NT explodes.
All you have to do is run a virtual machine (vmware or free virtualbox) with a simple XP install and a demo instance of NinjaTrader. Do all your testing there while you only run your live strategies on the main NT instance. Then if the 'sandbox' NT crashes as it inevitably will, no problem just restart it you haven't lost anything other than a few seconds.
I have had my main NT instance which runs my strategies open for several weeks now without closing it, no crashes no problems.
I feel your pain on the DB repair thing though, that happened to me once too. I take regular backups of the DB now, can't wait to decomission 6.5 and the jetdb nonsense.
