Just to provide a little context, I'm trying to build a breakout strategy that I got from Larry Connors.
I have the amibroker code but I'm trying to build it in Ninjatrader with Bloodhound so that I can play around with it on different markets and timeframes and with different conditions to those specified in the amibroker code.
Bloodhound is very useful when you have the right indicators with which to build a strategy. You can even use it to produce a signal like an indicator. For example, you can get it to tell you when the current weekly close has been above the weekly close of 5 weeks ago for the last 8 weeks therefore defining an upthrust.
However, I haven't found a way to then incorporate these signals into a strategy. Come to think of it, it would be useful if bloodhound could be made to work in 'indicator mode' so that the signals it produced are then treated as indicator signals and can be used as inputs into a strategy - this would be the holy grail of a programming free, system trading construction platform!.
If anybody could help me with the code for this indicator then I would be happy to give you the amibroker code and the pdf describing the breakout strategy, which has a good record of double digit returns for the last 15 years on the S&P500, so long as you did not give it to anybody else and respected Larry Connors' copyright on it.
Hey guys, I thought many of you would enjoy and benefit from this thread. My intention is to have each poster reply and describe in as much detail as possible an indicator they want created for NinjaTrader.
