Well hello futuresio world! This is my first post, so sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I am trying to find a MACD indicator for NinjaTrader that will allow me to enter numbers in the fast, slow, and smooth parameter settings that include decimals. For example, I would like to have a Fast setting of say 8.01568. I need to be able to do this for the fast, slow, and smooth parameter settings. I know it can me done on TradeStation (I've seen it), but I cant seem to find one for NT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

@rwilgers,

I have one which permits the entry of decimals. I'll share my indicator with you, if you'll share your special settings with me.

Just out of curiosity...

MACD is using exponential averages on the price, how would you calculate an average on fractions of a time frame ?
for example an EMA of 5, would take 5 units, but I'm struggling to understand how you would do EMA of 8.01568 ?

I agree. I don't actually understand it to be honest. I just know that someone with vastly more experience and success than me is using the parameters and has been nice enough to share, so I'm not looking this gift horse in the mouth! I know it is possible and exists but I agree that on the surface it doesn't seem to make sense.

@rwilgers,

Find my last post. Click on my userid (left portion of the message, just above the picture of the wizard - where it says "TheWizard - highlighted in yellow - by the green dot, followed by Elite Member / Houston, TX) - pull down to "Send a Private Message to TheWizard and send me a private message.

Better yet, I'll send you a private message & you can reply to my private message with your special MACD settings. I'll reply to your Private Message with the indicator attached.
