I have a custom Indicator that I paid for to a private party, but would like to Share it on this board. Can I do this? If so, should put the technian's name? Or is it enough that I own it and it's mine?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'm not an attorney, but if you paid to have it developed for your own personal use, it's yours! You can do with it what you want, unless the paid party specified, in writing, that you may not share it. You own it. You can sell it, rent it or give it away.
After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!
You can sell or give away your own method whenever you want - it's yours.
The other 2 items - i.e. the implementation of your method - are only yours within the scope
of the contract that you made.
If it's e.g. a classical license (not GNU etc), the code isn't yours but you are only allowed to use it.
Reselling and letting on lease already depend on legislation. Multiplication isn't allowed in most
legislations without explicit contractual specification.
