StepMa

I tried this indicator but only get a flat yellow line across the top of the chart.
I tried different instruments and time frames but no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks, Vic

I now have "steps" and color change. Only see step up and step down, no step netural.
I changed the color mode from default 0 to 2. Setting it to 3 shows no lines at all
Also have step size set at 5 and TenthPip set at 10.

Thanks for any further help.

Vic

Hello Todd,
No I'm working of post #2 by WH. That link will take you directly to the NT indicator file sharing section. I searched the NT site for other post and found that other had problem with the yellow line also.
MQL to NinjaScript translation request: StepMA 7.1 - Page 2 - NinjaTrader Support Forum
Check it out.
Looks like this will do what I need it to do as is without the yellow
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply back WH. In post #6 I said color mode 2 worked best
Your settings at stepsize 4 and Tenthpip 8 definitely look better than 5 and 10.I don't have EMA available in my drop down menu for MA type. Did you
add this latter.
Thanks again,
Vic

Hey WH, Thanks for the instructions. First time I edited an indicator!
EmA is now in the drop down for MA types. Still don't have any yellow lines
but will keep on trying. I'm using 4 and 11 range bars also. Thanks for the help.

nice sharky-chart, for me a little bit sensitive ...

StepMaV71(2,False,0.5,10,EMA,0,4,8)

Fine Tuning is 0.3 instead 0.5

A quote from Elliott Wave

NinjaTrader Support Forum - View Single Post - MQL to NinjaScript translation request: StepMA 7.1

Quoting
This is a really amazing and unique moving average created by Igorad from the Trend Laboratory and Forex-TSD forums.

I find it extremely useful because it has very low lag when the market is trending but is 100% flat when the market is ranging. I like it even better than the JurikJMA.

Here is the code if anyone is able to translate it. I'm sure many people would find it useful...

Length: Volty Length
Kv: Sensivity Factor
StepSize: Constant Step Size (if need)
MA_Mode: Volty MA Mode : 0-SMA, 1-LWMA
Advance: Offset
Percentage: Percentage of Up/Down Moving
HighLow: High/Low Mode Switch (more sensitive)
ColorMode: Color Mode Switch
