Hello
I wanted to know if it is possible to create a strategy using an indicator that is not open source. For example, I am currently a subscriber to EOT pro and it is a commercial indicator closed source. I have some strategy ideas that I would eventually like to develop using some of EOT indicators as well as a few others from other companies.
is it possible to use indicators that I dont know the source code and still call them into action through a strategy?
if so, then is it possible to also create an indicator based on these same closed source indicators?
thanks
Spencer
Can you help answer these questions from other members on futures io?
you have to grab the dataSeries that are given out from the EOT-indi in example + this you can use in a strategy or in an other indicator
especialy from EOT-stuff i know : this works for shure.
for finding out wich dataSeries are given out from an EOT-indi you can use the NT - Strategy-wizard - that can show you the code you have to use + the datas they offer you.

in theory it is possible but the indicators will have to expose their dataseries which is unfortunately not always the case.
Ctrl-D will bring up the data box which shows you which values are getting exposed by the indicators on your chart. only these can be used in a strategy.
i found that some vendors who also sell automated strategies wont expose their indicator values.....
