Just installed Windows 10 on my PC. This was an upgrade install. On Win 8 I had my Ninjatrader shortcut on the taskbar, after installing Win 10 everything was working fine. Then I had the dumb idea to unpin the Ninjatrader shortcut from the taskbar and pin it to the start menu.
Now I cannot run Ninjatrader unless it is run in administrator mode. Tried to reinstall but that did not help. I get a message about a trace file and then NinjaTrader.Vendor.dll access denied
Anyone else having issues with Ninjatrader and Win 10?
Latest Win 10 update auto installed this weekend. Now NT7 32 bit will not run even as administrator, 64 bit is fine. I need 32 bit to access my TDA account, Bummer.
As an aside my previous post here was resolved by changing the file and folder permissions to my personal user login account. I think Win 10 has many changes to how file and folder permissions are handled as I have issues with quite a few programs.
I think my problems stem from when I installed Win 10 and allowed the installer to use my Windows Live account for login. This was a mistake as its a way for Microsoft to suck me/you into their ecosystem, Win 10 is full of these "revenue enhancers". When I switched to my normal windows login all the problems with permissions started, figures they would screw people that way.
I update from Windows 7 with NT7 running fine.
After the first round update to Windows 10 everything running fine.
Then new updates to Windows 10 and NT7 crash every time.!
Before update I suggesting to make a total clone of harddisk so it's possible to go back.
Don't know if it happens only to me, but if on Win 10 Pro the clock is set on set date/time automatically and on Win 10 Pro Insider Preview also on set the time zone automatically ( this feature there isn't on Win 10 Pro), NT goes out of sync and lost the last hour, i.e. if the time is 12.53, on NT you haven't the data from 11.53 to 12.53.
To do work right NT I must disable this functions.
Lubo.
NT8 Not Working on last 2/3 releases of Win 10 insider preview.
I say 2/3 because I think I did skipped one, dont' remeber if 14251 or 14257.
On build 14251 and or 14257 NT8 wont load.
On last build 14267 NT8 loads and connets to data feed, but gives a lot of unhandled exception errors and charts wont load.
The last insider build release in which it works is the 11102. in which, however, it appears the error WSClient.dll that is resolved only on last released build 14267.
Releases after 11102 present also an issue on Firefox, the flash websites didn't work properly.
Another think that seems to happen is that NT8 but maybe also other software require much more cpu usage and maybe they give problems in real-time receipt and loading of the data stream.
Other software seems to work, NT7 seems too, but I have not traied it much.
Anyway I think it's better stay with the official WIN10 release for trading.
