Has anyone benchmarked or measured the performance of their Ninjatrader setup ?

Background
NT8 is coming out and many of us are thinking of marking the occasion with a hardware upgrade. I would like to be able to benchmark or measure the performance/behaviour of my current NT7 setup in a controlled way and when I get my hands on NT8 ...do the same.

Requirements
Correct me if I am wrong, but everyone's NT7 app setup will have an effect on performance.

# of instruments
look back periods
#of open workspaces
#of charts

all will have an effect on different aspects of performance.

In the past I have noticed that the # of trades or size of db may have caused some responsiveness issues and many many many (yup that is 3 too many)of us have had reinstall issues.

I want to understand how to test NT7 and NT8 on my PC so as to plan for any upgrade if necessary.

My PC performance improved when I switched off the power saving/efficiency settings-was a different computer after that!

what are your pc specs in terms of CPU, RAM and GPU (graphics card?). I would think NT is mostly reliant on CPU and ram. NT7 is single threaded but NT8 will use multiple cores.

Understanding yourself is just as important as understanding markets.
