  • Description: “DoubleMAPaint based on sharky’s pkg modified to include tzachi’s alert when the first consolidation dot is painted”
  • Gui.Design.DisplayName (“DoubleMA Paint (tzachi)”
  • public class DoubleMAPaint_tzachi : Indicator
  • 2 new variables for : Indicator Property UI
    • Consolidation alert [True/False]
    • Consolidation Sound [file name] – the user has to copy this .wav file into the NT \Sounds folder
  • Logic:
If FIRST NeutralPlot, then if Consolidation alert is True, draw white Diamond at Arrow Displacement above and below the bar, play Consolidation Sound

Looking at the code, it appears as though NT only allows a single "soundon" toggle... if that's true then looks like we are still good because the DMA Paint line turn sound only works when arrows turned on as well... not sure how that affects the UI Consolidation alert entry fields... more confusing, but it could work to use the already existing "Sound" entry and the "long" wave file... I need someone to comment on this since I don't know NT Script / C# nuances

you could have it set as many soundon commands as you want unique names - also could paint or not paint independently of sounds

Maybe add some specific sounds for these signals, not the "basic" long/short .wav, but something like "diamond found, consider Long" ?

Interesting, should also add opinion on how to detect whether trend will reverse from where it was before consolidation or continue the trend.

stay tuned.

good to hear zeller... I was a little worried when I saw the code.

as far as sounds... just let folks put whatever they want there... I like the train personally... will have to find that...

zeller, you might consider putting the latest code in your first post rather than #13 by editing it and replacing the attachment... otherwise folks are likely to grab that one and hound you big time with questions and problems... coding and creating are fun, but dealing with endless stupid and needless questions gets old fast!

New Version of _White_Dot_Alerts_v03
  • fixed audio file location - test with your location of the directory for Sounds - i.e. C:Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\Sounds
  • Allowed arrow plotting and longwavfilename and shortwavfilename processing (which had been removed during version 01 and 02)
  • Allowed color selection of diamond
if there are any other issues, please note here and not in some other thread.
TEST THIS YOURSELF AND DO NOT USE AS A STANDALONE SYSTEM OR AS ALERTS FOR PLACING TRADES! - REFER TO CHAT ARCHIVES OR JOURNALS FOR TZACHI IMPLEMENTATION / SETUPS, ETC.

Now go to this thread if you haven't already been there.

Zeller,

We've been looking at "adxvma for sharky" today and I think it's much more versatile than the 14/1 adxvma that you improved into your white dot indicator.

Can you please take a look at the attached zip file (which is the same one as shown in the download section) and let me know if you can easily improve this into a white dot indicator?

Thanks,
Todd

Todd,

I saw your comments today on the chat.

This is from the ADXVMA_Sharky provided by Big Mike.
Thanks to Big Mike! / Sharky! and TZACHI!

Here's an alert version with ADXVMA defaults of period 5 with Gold Diamonds and Gold Circles and alert4 for sound.
(Let's hope it brings Gold!)

please compare to other versions you may have to ensure we have similar results.
(As before):

Zeller,

Thanks for your work yesterday on the ADXVMA for Sharky indicator.

I've got an idea on how to improve it just a little more.

See the thumbnail below...

EOTPRO's HighLevelChop Indicator plots "chop" or "trend" in the top right corner of the chart depending on their formula under the hood.

Since we are using this ADXVMA for Sharky as a chop/trend indicator (especially on higher timeframe charts), I was wondering if you could add "CHOP" when the white dots are plotting and "RISING" when rising and 'FALLING" when falling.

I think the DrawTextFixed command is involved but I don't know much more than that. Also, I think BigMike might know how to do this if you need help.

Thanks,

Todd

Zeller,

I had changed the color of the diamonds to black and saved the chart template but when choose another chart template, then come back to the original chart template or if I close ninja down and restart it, the black dots are gold again.

That's weird....any idea why it wouldn't be holding the changed color?

Todd

you gotta save your workspace... and or template for chart you're using- tell me if that doesn't work
otherwise, you can edit and recompile - i'll tell you how if this doesn't work

Hey Zeller,

Hope you are having a good weekend. The adxvma alert indicator (v2) has hard coded color (gold)..

I can change it to black in the settings and save the template and save the workspace BUT when I turn off ninjatrader and turn it back on, the chart reverts back to the hardcoded settings.

Can you fix that so the hardcode only references whatever is chosen in the input?

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,

I didn't understand serialization before but I added this thanks to BigMike's implentations on some other codes.

Please see the new file and reference the white dot alerts file also for similar implementation.

NOTE TO ALL DOWNLOADING THIS/THESE FILE(S):
WHEN DOWNLOADING THE WHITE DOT ALERTS FILE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO OVERWRITE YOUR OLD FILES - NOTHING WAS CHANGED THERE. NOTES OF CHANGES PLACED NEAR TOP WHEN YOU VIEW THE FILE TEXT - TOOLS>EDIT NINJASCRIPT>INDICATOR

All the best in your trading!

Kirk

How do you get your charts to look like this? (Post #20) Can you post a .xml file for your setup?
I think they are cool.

hanna you request everyones templates and you want everyone to tell you everything about each indicator and thats fine but i think you will learn more if you also read the all the fourms about the paticular indicators in question we really try to do more than a good job explaining everything we do...sharky

Hanaa,

Sharky's right...

for what it's worth, think of the two black diamonds as on a ski-slope - you don't know which way you're going(ie up or down), but get ready for action!

hope that helps
