Here is a momentum stop indicator, momentum because it has nothing to do with volume it is based on price action only. I wrote it for 5m ES chart I have no idea if it work on any other time frame/chart style. Please take time to watch it in action as it is very simple to understand maybe too simple for some folks. The template is for 24hr chart because I collect data to plot overnight H/L using BTOpenRange. If you don't care for overnight H/L then there is no need for 24hr chart. I attatch all indicators to be used in this template.

sorry I am still on NT 6.5, try copy cs file into nt7 indicator an compile it from there, it only uses h/l/c value and draw triangle command I think it should pass nt7 syntax.

I see, I just mean the momstop may not having probl with NT7 but the rest of indicators may, due to incompatible ploting syntax.

I am done with my tax so it's time for the upgrade here is MomStopV2

improvements are;

-add more reversals

- add option to filter out bad signals using bar range

- add trade entry buy/sell line so that you can track the entry point visually

here is how it looks with the new indicator
and how it looks with the new OR15

I see, I just mean the momstop may not having probl with NT7 but the rest of indicators may, due to incompatible ploting syntax.

Here a the solution to running in NT7

Code in current indicator:

Code
                    DrawLine("L1"+id,StartBar,h,EndBar,h,colorRL,DashStyle.Solid,lw);
                    DrawLine("L2"+id,StartBar,l,EndBar,l,colorRL,DashStyle.Solid,lw);
Code change to:
ADD the true, to the code

Code
                    DrawLine("L1"+id,true,StartBar,h,EndBar,h,colorRL,DashStyle.Solid,lw);
                    DrawLine("L2"+id,true,StartBar,l,EndBar,l,colorRL,DashStyle.Solid,lw);

Thanks for the kewl indicator Cory

Cory, Love your indicator, but one question. Exactly how does the range expansion work? I changed the properties in the code and added it as a user variable so I could change it on the fly, but I see no distinct changes. Also, as far as the " ticks range" variable goes, it appears to me that it is how many ticks from the peak of the current bar up/down price travels as to when it paints the triangle. Am I correct? Also, since this is based on your volume indicator does the range expansion work the same way? Again, love your work. sebbdn

there is no range expansion logic in mom stop maybe you are thinking of vol stop? anyway in mon stop there is a bar range filter what it does is you specify minimum number of ticks for a bar before that bar is used to generate a signal, small bar = loss of momentum = invalid signal.

so are you saying that, line 28: private double range expansion = 1.2 does not apply for this indicator, momstopv2? would that also hold true for line 34's ma variable? also, how does the range expansion variable work in the vol stop indicator? thanks again for your work. sebddn

I strip off vol part from vol stop to make mom stop so line 28 is a leftover from vol stop and the same with line 34.

hm, i dont know what you wanna hear here now cory

i had a short look + what i see is :

- basicly lots of simular signals in all 3
- Jeffs is always a bit later but nothing missing + nearly every signal gives a positive trade
- Corys has a lot more signals -- often very early and with deepe pullbacks after the first arrow

- this other one -- hm, looks good but not shure how "realtime" the signal come up - thats the question!

Because from our futures.io (formerly BMT)-guys - Cory + Jeff - we know that the signals COMES reatime + stay like they come up !

Jeffs Dots are a whole system with filters incl.
The otherone - looks also trend-filtered / whole system-like
Corys is a pure unfiltered signal-shooter-indie

thanks for the comments guys, you crack me up but here is the obvious, see pic. I was hopping for a comment from this group, when my momstop was running neck to neck with the tape indicator I kept checking on it wonder when it will take over and all of sudden there was a surge in number of downloading around 40ish, so I call them group of 40. Don't know who they are probl never will but I keep looking

Had a similar problem...NT 7 demands an additional argument for "autoscale". this was assumed in NT6.5 but must be present in NT7.
See example below.....

DrawHorizontalLine("Current_price", true, Close[0], LineColor, HorizLineStyle, line_Size);

Hey Everyone! Question: does the momostop indicator place the arrow immediately after bar close or does it wait a bar or two for confirmation? Thanks a bunch! SS

I am done with my tax so it's time for the upgrade here is MomStopV2

improvements are;

-add more reversals

- add option to filter out bad signals using bar range

- add trade entry buy/sell line so that you can track the entry point visually

here is how it looks with the new indicator
and how it looks with the new OR15

is this the new updated indy for nt6.5?
