Is there any way to generate historical Renko charts using ninja trader and interactive brokers? If I understand correctly, Renko is calculated off of the tick data, but I was hoping that perhaps there was some clever way to parse historical tick data and generate these charts. Currently the only way I have to generate them is using live data. Thanks.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks, I had no idea. I am newer to trading and have been practicing futures trading and really like the renko charts, as they help me psychologically ignore all of the noise and just focus on price action. I guess I am trying to analyze if I would benefit from the Kinetik e-mini feed, as I trade gold, oil, and the YM. So if I used kinetik I'd be able to generate historical renkos, is that correct?
Actually, I should have asked, can I generate historical Renko charts off of the free EOD Kinetik info? I tried to, and it doesn't seem to be working, so I am not sure if I am just doing something wrong or if this isn't possible. Thanks.
