Hi just started NT8 and was curious as to what is it that everyone was waiting for?
Realizing it is a Beta release and appreciate you releasing it to all of us @NinjaTrader
Ok a little clearer, what is it about NT8 that you wanted and is now present?
All I see is a new learning curve but with much of the same functionality that already existed.

Not trying to bust balls here just curious?? And would like to get some feedback from those of you that have been BETA testing the platform. What are your comments/views

Have not tried it yet but my understanding is that most if not all the real new functionality is in expanded scripting capabilities. Everything else is pretty much as before with a face lift and performance improvements.

There are over 500 individual enhancements, here is a high level list - NinjaTrader. If your take at a surface glance is that it's not much different, then goal accomplished. The idea was (and I have stated this many a time) to make the user experience in NinjaTrader 8 was to make existing NinjaTrader 7 users feel right at home.

Hi thanks guys much appreciated,
Guess for one is that yes I see that much behind the scenes stuff was done but for me the non-programmer just spells more functionality for the third party vendors to reap the rewards?
As far as some of what I checked out via your link @NinjaTrader Are there videos I can watch to see how to utilize some of the new functionality within the platform?
e.g. I see it states "Drag and drop functionality to move indicators and charts between tabs or windows"
yet I can't figure out how to do that.
Have tried just as implied dragging a "tab" to an (existing window) did not work for me, most likely operator error, but that is why I am posting to better understand the new functionality..
moving the indicator worked,Cool.
As far as moving the chart I tried clicking on the tab in current window and dragging to a existing window but does nothing. Right clicking on tab and choosing "move to a new window" just opens that instrument in a brand new window. I realize it's all new and I maybe guessing at things so appreciate in advance your patience.

Why can I still not have multiple workspaces open at the same time?? If one has multiple monitors and a reasonably up to date hardware it is not unimaginable for this to be plausible.
I do it now with VM, multiple desktops, etc....

Best to check out the Help Guide, there are a lot of new videos and place holders for those yet to come. You can also interact with our staff at our support forum for specific questions.

Does anyone knows if NT8 has the ability to chart spread between instruments out of the box?

Nope.. Indicator needed, just like NT7 in regards to spreads.

I have take a look at NT8.

It would be REALLY nice to set Opacity 0-100 % when selecting color for lines on all tools.

Else your Fib channel with more line above and below is flip flopping around with lines

How functional is NT8 Beta 5?
Is there a list of known problems?
Is it ready for live trading?

There is a bug list and discussion threads on the NT support forums, if you want to keep up to date:

NinjaTrader 8 [AUTOLINK]Beta[/AUTOLINK] - [AUTOLINK]NinjaTrader[/AUTOLINK] Support Forum

I'm new to it also, but would not suggest risking any live money with a beta. Others may have more to say on that. @sam028 ?

Bob.
