Yes to your first question. You an access Trading Hours templates directly or by reference through an instrument.

Will these "templates" be stored as XML files?

@NinjaTrader

HI Ray

Can you give us an update of when the beta will be released? Are you still expecting before the end of the month. How will it be announced, will you post in the form?

thanks

magicknow

Nothing has changed, we will be releasing beta to an initial wave of testers at the end of this month. Details on the announcement are not yet known at this time.

Thanks Ray, I appreciate the information regarding the holidays on the new Trading Hours window.

By any chance, will NT8 include a fix for this issue?

Hi Ray,

I have a question regarding the Periods tab on the Strategy Analyzer.

On the Graphs tab, I see a dropdown labeled "Time Base" to select Exit or Entry times to distinguish which period a trade belongs to.

Unfortunately, on the Periods tab, such a dropdown does not exist.

For the Periods tab, it appears that the trade's Exit time is (always) used to define which period the trade beings to.

For trades with Entry/Exit times that cross a period boundary, it would be helpful to choose Entry time to define which period that trade belongs to, rather than always using Exit time.

So my question is:
Does NT8 Strategy Analyzer allow the user to select the "Time Base" Exit vs Entry time (ala the Graphs tab) on the Periods tab?

I mean, if the Entry/Exit times cross a Period boundary, how can one control which Period the trade belongs to?

More discussion here and here.

PS: When backtesting, it would be very helpful to see the Period results based upon the time of trade entry. For ex: the question "For all trades entered in first hour of ES's open, how did those trades perform?" is a question the Periods tab cannot answer. Am I wrong?

I see on page 14 of the NT8 "Major Enhancements" .pdf file the section "New Analysis Display" has a bullet item that says,

"Analysis can be done on Entry or Exit time basis"

I'm looking for some specifics on what that means in relation to the Periods tab in the Strategy Analyzer window.

My personal wish is the possibility to plot into the future with Ninjatrader 8. This would make me very very very very happy

With version 7 this is not possible as discussed several times. ( no displacement etc.)

@ehlaban
With version 7 is this always possible, you only must use either negative bars ago index or future date/time, and ofcourse you must set right margin space for see this drawing. Or did you mean something else?
