I noticed NT8 will have a freestyle scrolling feature by pressing the "ctrl" key and using the mouse to move around in time and price.

Please ditch the "press the ctrl key" requirement, its a real hassle. Every other software I know allows you to click an empty area of chart and drag around in time and price simultaneously without having to press a button, as it should be.

There is an indicator around that does this but its not ideal since it scrolls even when placing trend lines and such and who knows if it will be updated for NT8.

Thanks

No I think it does need that CTRL "safety" on the free scrolling because you grab and move lines, rectangles, objects etc all the time...

You move orders up and down.. and the chart would be scrolling everywhere...

Plus alot of times you just want to scroll backwards in price action not free scroll.

It would be cool if it was very sophisticated where == if you selected a Chart object - then it would only move the chart object. But if you clicked on empty space on the chart - then it would "Free-Scroll" BUT--- what if we only wanted to normal scroll ....?

are we supposed to be free scrolling everywhere?

Free scrolling is great for putting orders in... for sure.. BUT .. not so much for looking back in time alot maybe.

Also you can get keyboards and computer mice with programmable buttons - and you can program CTRL to that button.

ACCESS - IS keyboards
Razer Orbweaver - (*or something like that...)

both are programmable keyboards you can keep on the side.

I REALLY LIKE THE ABILITY WE HAVE IN NINJA 7 to move the y-axis and turn it into FREE-SCROLL with the Scroll-Lite Indicator. that thing is a fantastic.

Maybe adding that extra feature along with the CTRL would make it perfect.

This is surely a personal preference. We did have enough demand for this feature which is why it has been incorporated into NT8 but for the sake of people like myself and OpalDragon, we tied it to the CTRL key.

It is my understanding that NT8 will store bid/ask tick data will there be an addition of indicators like volume breakdown, footprint charts, etc that use that information or will we still have to go to third party programmers/vendors to get these indicators/charts ?

Your understanding is correct. At this time, I have not decided if we would include additional features such as as Volume Profile and Market Delta type charts.

Please Please Please include a snapshot of the code that was ran in the strategy analyzer. During strat development I open new instances of strat analyzer to compare changes and get lost in what changes where made.

NT8's improved Strategy Analyzer includes a new "Log" feature that stores a history of each backtest run including the code used for that backtest. It's not a revision control system but does allow you to go back and compare different versions of your code.

I think this is the weakest point of ninjatrader in comparison with other terminal and i would like to version 8 was a good market profile and cluster graph then we could finally decide to choose this terminal and buy a lifetime license. Sorry for bad english via google translate. Thank you.

There is are actually many vendors that produce some awesome Volume profiles...

Rancho Dinero
and
Fin-alg

Have you tried those..?
Both are ultra high featured and very very good.

I don't know --- I rather have them work on the other stuff and get the platform out quicker. And do all the other charting requests that would make N8 very powerful and leave the Market Profile to third party people....

Will NT8 have a fully working account groups feature. Right now it only works for order entries. If a stop or target is changed on an active order the changes are not made on all accounts. Or am I doing something wrong?

You are not doing something wrong. At this time, Account Groups for NT8 has been deprecated due to extremely low usage data.
