You can't. What I can suggest is to use the pivot indicator. Depending on your preferences it allows you to display different values for the HLC. You can disable all values for the prior days. However, you will need to use a different indicator to display yesterday's opening price, as it is not included with the pivots indicator.
(a) Full session high, low and settlement:
-> set indicator to DailyBars (requires a datafeed that comes with settlement prices such as Kinetick)
(b) Full session high, low and close:
-> set indicator to ETH and IntradayClose (possible with any datafeed and ETH session template)
(c) Regular session high, low and settlement:
-> set indicator to RTH and DailyClose (requires a datafeed that comes with settlement prices and a specific session template)
(d) Regular session high, low and close:
-> set indicator to RTH and IntradayClose (possible with any datafeed, requires a specific session template)
I have tried the indicator and did everything mentioned above but as you can see from the image I attached it
is still showing the high and the low of ETH. Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong so I cannot get
the high and the low of the regular session. I am using CQG data feed.
The indicator requires the use of a specific session templates. The session template tells the indicator the start and end time of the regular session.
Please use the session templates as attached, which divides the trading day into the night session, the regular session and the remaining evening session.
A more general explanation how to set up the session templates can be found here:
FDAX is a bit different from CL. My experience is that ETH pivots work better than RTH pivots in general, but there can be exceptions. ON many days they are identical, if the price action after 5:30 PM is range bound.
Sorry I am not elite member so I cannot visit the link.
I saw your charts above and I see that you can view the ETH on your chart and at the same time
calculate the high and the low of the RTH. Is there a way to do that?
Correct, you need to create the session templates. Once you have created them, you can select them under instrument settings. That way NinjaTrader will always catch the appropriate session template, when you open a chart with the session template <instrument settings>. When you toggle between instruments, the session template will automatically change as needed.
