Hi guys.

I am attempting to move from TOS to Ninjatrader and am running into some problems. I've tried messing with Ninjatrader before and have been frustrated trying to get charts running smoothly. I got a chart up once but I don't remember exactly what I did.

Basically, I need to get candlestick charts up with VWAP and the ability to see and execute limit orders on the chart. When I create a new chart connecting to Kinetick for any symbol listed on the new->chart screen, I have a blank screen. Do I need to pay for data to test my system?? I'm a computer programmer and I'm finding this program difficult to use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just figured out how to use market replay data. But now my memory is coming back and I remember when I did get live data on my chart, it displayed data starting the moment I started my chart. Furthermore the market replay data for the TF 133 tick is not matching exactly bar for bar what I have on TOS. What accounts for this inconsistency and how can I fix it?

The big thing I am concerned about is when it comes time to buy and sell I want to be able to right click the chart and submit my order. Again, any help would be appreciated.

It would be worth your while to view the short videos on Ninja's support website. They will take you through the basics, answer many of your questions.

Unless you are paying for kinetick you won't get live data. You can download data from Ninja to use on market replay. (File-Utilities-Download market replay data) This will get you the ability to run through some data getting used to the platform.

Trying to match up low time resolution tick data is a waste of time between data feeds. You have to understand the nature of the data delivery and everyone seems different, you get what you pay for.

You can trade directly on the charts.

I use TOS but prefer Ninjatrader charts as they are just cleaner and easier for me to read. I am trying to figure out a way to have 8 charts up on one display screen with Ninjatrader, as I have set up on TOS. So far the only thing I found is to set up charts in Ninjatrader and save as a workspace, but that has not worked for me.
If anyone has a template or can help me figure out how to put multiple screens up in Ninjatrader, please let me know.
For example, I like to see not only the charts of possible stocks I am following, but also $TICK, /es, /fq, or perhaps DIA and SPY or the VOLSPD to see what the overall market is doing while I am trading.
As for data, I use MBT for trading and chart data for ninjatrader. It works pretty well, but sometimes can get some gaps if moving around to several charts.
Appreciate any help and good trading
