Hi All,

I would like to know if it's possible to run scans or explorations on a set of stocks or equities using Ninja Trader. I'm looking for a feature that would be similar to say Metastock or Amibroker where you could scan a pre defined set of equities and Ninja would then show all stocks / equities that meet the criteria listed or triggered

Ninja would then show arrows on the chats of all stocks selected where the criteria were met etc etc. The scan needs to be run on EOD (end of day data) and not live data.

Please can you advise if this is possible to set up and if so, please can point me in the right direction to get this set up and activated in Ninja.

Many thanks
Alan

I recall this thread from NT: Does NT has stock screener? - [AUTOLINK]NinjaTrader[/AUTOLINK] Support Forum

What kind of criteria are you think of? I use a custom scanner for EOD S&P stocks provided by price action lab software but that offers me also the ability to backtest the results on a portfolio and also analyze the sensitivity of the findings something that would be a major project to accomplish in NT. If you need something off the shelf II think Amibroker is fine if you get around to using the AFL correctly.

No - I think that Tradestations Radar screen is about the best retail level programmable scanner out there.

Then stuff like MadScans.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the prompt replies. I think that I will use Amibroker tp do the scans etc. I was trying to see if I could get Ninja to do what Amibroker does, however I do not think that it's possible.

I will look into buying Amibroker and see how this goes. Amibroker is reasonably priced and very good.

I'm in a similar position where I want to scan the market for certain criteria then make (near) EOD trades. I was wondering if, with NinjaTrader, it would be possible to pull the stock symbols to be traded/monitored from an outside source? Or maybe, via some scripting, setup NinjaTrader near the close of the day to only monitor a couple stocks?
