I was a zen-fire customer so I had no choice but to upgrade to 18. I'm still on 18 and since switching brokers I haven't had any trouble. AFAIK 18 is stable.
I'm still on NT version .18 as well and can confirm its stability.
...And ATM I'm connected through PTP / Vision Financial Markets which works fine.

But since you are with AMP / CQG, you won't need it, it's for Continuum only without the need of using Kinetick...

.... yea, I'll probably call it with .19 , as that gives me the Rithmic option w/ AMP... But CQG has been solid
with my most robust of connections at the new office... just nice to have the option if something happens
I'm up to the current one of .21. Don't need it at all since I'm not using/going to use Continuum/CQG but I figured, why note. Release notes say it's the only thing that's changed since .19.
Nothing that matters (unless you're now going to be using Continuum/CQG data) has changed since .19.
I just like to be on the current version even if I don't really need it.
I can't post links here yet as I don't have enough posts (I joined last week simply to get information about my Mirus/ZenFire mess. Now I'm going to stick around.) but Google 'ninjatrader 7 release notes' to see what I mean.
