learning ninjascript

I am trying to Learn ninja script, but find the conversion from easy language harder than anticipated. I was reading on this forum somewhere about others who have had the same struggle and what they suggest. Someone referred to "reading the book". Any idea what they are talking about? I have watched most of the YouTube tutorials, but find it hard to translate those into what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks in advance!!

I don't know of any book but there's the Ninjascript reference guide

Big Mike and some others have done similar webinars too, look around.

Because Ninjascript is based on C# and .NET, it is more like a true general-purpose programming language, whereas EasyLanguage is more like a domain-specific macro-like language. That makes EL easier to use to model trading ideas more simply but, it's more limited for more exotic needs, whereas makes it possible to do anything with the Windows operating system.

I used Tradestation many years ago (back when you actually owned the software) and taught myself EL the old-fashioned way - I opened up the existing code and started modifying it under a different name. When I tried eSignal I did the same with their JavaScript, and then NinjaTrader's C#. No way I can do the complicated/esoteric stuff, but it's good enough to get something basic to intermediate on the screen. I did manage to move an indicator or two from old EL to C#.

There are plenty of really good coders who help out in the "Free" thread. Maybe if you posted what you were looking for they could help or point you to something close enough to it to just mod it yourself.
