Hi all,
I recently followed along with the video tutorial and installed the GomRecorder, GomMP, and volume ladder. Everything worked fine, all the indicators were working, and I could see the data being stored in My Documents folder. Well, I went to BigMike's thread with the binary data for backfilling, but after copying and pasting the data into My Documents like the video said to I could not view it on the chart (I set the date range to the dates for the downloaded data). I could still only view the tick data for the past few days that my datafeed (IQFeed) would allow.

I restarted the computer and ninjatrader, but now I can't even open a new chart and see any data (minute, tick, range, any of them). I try to open a new chart displaying current data during market hours, but the screen just stays blank and nothing ever comes up. There is no indication in the top left corner that it is downloading data or anything. When on the "Orders" home screen I can see the bid/ask moving, so I know my data feed is connected and working, but I can't see any charts.

So, 2 questions:

1) Any ideas on what my dumb@ss did that screwed up my charts?
2) Any ideas on why I couldn't get the backfill data downloaded from BigMike's thread to display either?

Thanks,
jordis

Hi Jordis,

3 things that i would try:

- move the files (gom recorded files and the files you pasted into this folder) from the My Documents folder to another folder. Then restart ninjatrader.

- open a new chart without indicators, click on the chart with the right mouse button and select 'Reload All Historical Data'.

- In ninjatrader Select in the menu 'Tools', 'Options', 'Data' tab, try 'Reset db' OR 'repair db'
restart ninjatrader
