Solving for Regular Divergence btw Price and BBMACD in BloodHound
I wanted to share with everyone how I am solving for Divergence between Price and the BBMACD within BloodHound. This method is a simple, yet very effective, way to find regular divergence, and I believe these examples should provide logic enough for someone to turn this into an indicator. I am using Donchian Channels—one on price and the other on the BB MACD. When the low of the price bar is equal to the lower Donchian Channel, price is making either a double bottom or a new low within the period. If at the same time, the BB MACD is above the lower Donchian Channel of the same period, there is a bullish divergence—vice versa for bearish divergence. This is the meat of the method. It would be wonderful if someone here could turn this into an indicator for the MACD, MACDBBlines, RSI, or any other oscillator, that nexusfi.com (formerly BMT)ers could use. Using two sets of Donchian Channels, that could be user defined, might be the way to go, so as to catch both the divergences within 30 or so bars and the divergences farther apart, say up to 65 or so bars. Of course, if you’re going to use Stochastics or a histogram type oscillator, just one set of Donchian Channels would probably be fine. I won’t go into trying to write out all of the Pseudo Code. There is a flow chart attached which defines most of the logic. This seems to work very well—better than anything I’ve seen, so far. It functions correctly across all chart type. Please see the examples below on the ES, 4 tick range bars…
I really like this. Could you or anyone please post the Bloodhound template for this BH indy? It can be posted with an .xml vs .bht to get past the security police and later renamed back to .bht by the recipient.
I've been using Bloodhound for about 3 weeks or so and have already done some amazing things with out. Its very powerful and easy to use, highly recommended. The only thing that its missing is trade management. It comes with SiRaven (A basic Profit/Stop strategy) which one uses to call upon the templates you make.
I just joined up futures.io (formerly BMT) so I can learn to modify SiRaven as to incorporate mutiple profit targets, and MOVE TO BREAKEVEN type of triggers. SiRaven does allow you to use ATM's but those cannot be backtested, so this is why Im preferring to build it right into the strategy itself so I can backtest and Optimize them.
