does anyone have info on Ninja 8 and Gomi? Will there be any issues which would make Gomi not usable? Has the bid/ask historical data issue been resolved in NT8?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hmm, I have watched the NT8 webinars, and it was clearly stated that native bid/ask and historical bid/ask will be streamed and stored, etc.
But I have not seen any discussion of how Gomi's indicators will function in the new NT8 environment.
For example:
1) Will the GomFolder and environment variables still be required for NT8? (Presumably, no)
2) Will the Gomi NT7 indicators somehow automatically pick up the new NT8 bid/ask historical data, or will the Gomi indicators need to be updated to display the NT8 data?
Let me know if there is a thread discussing these types of NT8 and Gomi questions, perhaps I missed it.
NT7 indicators will not work in NT8. That goes for everything across the board.
You'll have to wait for NT8 to be released before we know what is needed, for example whether they have built-in cumulative delta, built-in market profile, built-in volume profile, or not.
Since there are thousands (I assume) of traders using the Gomi framework and various Gomi-based indicators, I think there would be some considerable interest in hearing from Gomi himself and/or other programmers that have developed the Gomi suite of tools as to their interest or disinterest in the task of recoding their NT7 indicators into the NT8 environment.
Perhaps it's still too early in the game for that type of discussion, since NT8 is still some unknown time away from release.
Regardless of what happens, one could just stay with NT7 if necessary to keep everything working, but that NT8 historical bid/ask data will be mighty hard to pass up.
Its really strange that all traders will know only after realing new version which indicators will work or no..
It would be nice if after realise new version we have some period for adaptation to trade at old version..
