decs0057,

is it possible to have a separate version of td setup which counts setup bars (based on existing rules but not restricted to 9 counts) until a priceflip occurs?

just checking.

decs, I've attached an intraday chart from bloomberg and NT together with the data.

1) Pls ignore the count that began at 9:48. There was a data discrepancy between the bloomberg chart and data.
2) sell setup count from 11;14 to 11:22 should not be there - no price flip. this was a result of my mistake.
3) buy setup count between 10:27 and 10:35, and between 11:32 and 11:40, and between 12:24 and 14:32 missing
4) sell risk level at 11:18, 11:47, 12:01, 15:19 missing (where the 13s are)
5) sell setup count between 11;42 and 11:50, and beween 15:12 and 15:20 missing
6) recommend that sell and buy tdst lines are colored differently as explained in my email to you earlier.
7) there is a histogram on the bloomberg chart to show the counts. the green bars represent the setup counts (the asterisk represent perfection) and the red bars represent the countdown. it is useful, particularly when you have more than 2 countdowns running at the same time as an aid to check whether there are any countdowns still outstanding... this is optional and your call whether to include or exclude.

Hi,

If I have the following code, how can I branch out to another count with its own set of conditions when the setupCount = 9 and have the setupCount simultaneously continue counting till its condition is no longer valid.

Regards

Kay Wai

Code

if( ValidSetup )
{
Print = "ValidSetup";
setupCount++;
SetupDrawText();
}

elseif( setupCount >= 9 )
{

CountCountdown();
stateCountdown = TDSTStateCountdown.Count;

stateSetup = TDSTStateSetup.Completed;
if( SetupCompleted != null )
SetupCompleted(this, new EventArgs());

TDSeq nextSetup = NextSetup;
nextSetup.SetupCompleted += SetupCompletedHandler;
return nextSetup;
}
elseif ( setupCount < 9 )
{
RemoveDrawText('S',setupDrawTicks);
stateSetup = TDSTStateSetup.PriceFlip;
setupCount = 0;
}

Hi Cory,

I've looked at JHLTDSetup. His version is really about the TDST lines, not TD Sequential. WRT your version, from what i see on the chart, 1) your td setup is not consecutive (your "green 1" is 6 bars away from your " green 2").

If you take a look at what decs0057 did on this thread (posted on march 17 2010), that is a pretty good version of td sequential. probably the best i've come across that is publicly available. still has some improvements (cosmetic or otherwise) that need to be done and i'm trying to work on it.

I'm trying to work on td countdown now. If you go thru my code, my tdsetup count can exceed 9 counts. But I would like to branch off at the 9 count to commence the td countdown while at the same time continuing the td setup count. This is the problem I am facing.

Hope you can help resolve my issue.

Kay Wai
