Hoping to keep in touch with those on the forum running the newest version of NT Beta each time it is released. Just as a way to share tips, problems, successes, etc.

Currently running NT7b10 as of this afternoon, was able to quickly install and start it. Takes about 5 minutes to load the 5 workspaces I am following:
  • 6E
  • ES
  • CL
  • GC
  • ZB
NT allowed about 800 users this time, I'm sure some of them are here, let me know?

I saw you posted something to the NT thread, it take 5 miniutes to start & boggs down, but has not crashed yet. I just did some sim trades and posted stuff and put the output in .xml. got real slow, but did not crash & that is with 6 workspaces, now.

Using 1 workspace to quickly identify markets with high probability trades.

This is something that caused me problems in 6.5: The ability to have multiple workspaces open at the same time without freezing, hanging or crashing. Not always, but enough to make me not use it.

With 7b10 all the other workspaces are basically the same, just adjusted for the trading volume and range of each instrument: 6E is shown. Also have CL, ES, GC, FDAX open.

im new to the beta program but pleh. im really not that impressed with the product. i didnt have the stability problems with 6.5 that most users seem to state are the main advantage. i was really hoping that the new version would have more trading functionality. i really dont see much. incremental trading tools is what i was hoping for but didnt really find them.

the dom is the same, time and sales data is fundamental. its really annoying when you are drawing on the chart and click to place your drawing tool and all the indicators pop up for editing. yes i know you can turn that off but then what value is it if you have to turn it on each time you want to use it.

not at all improved for chart annotations. still the same basic text and place.

so maybe i am missing something but after all this time i must say if your a techie impressed with the infrasture and architecture changes then good for you. as a trader, i dont think it was worth the wait.

I have spent most of today trying to get NT7B10 to work however to no avail. I cant even get it to load, it starts to load and then says it has to close. I have done tests on memory, hard drive etc, all pass with flying colours (I carried out two different tests on each hardware in case 1 missed something), I have now emailed the trace file to NT support and will see what they come back with and will post here. I am honestly baffled it at least loaded until a couple of versions ago. I really like the idea of different time frames on one chart for Indies etc.

Will post what NT come back from the trace file
