I thought this might be an interesting cross post.

I had some funny moments with -ve values using doubles, so I googled the use of decimals. I found this on StackOverflow.

It appears they recommend using Decimals when dealing with money.

A simple and reliable solution might also just use Longs and have everything held and worked in Pence or Cents.

Not sure about the Japanese National Debt mind....

Thats right, the important issues (with ninja) are, that you know

1. a double is only a approximate representation of a real value
2. if you do math with real value types, the rounding differences increases at every step (mostly)
3. you can't …

Ninjatrader DON'T work with decimals under the hood - that could be an suggestion for anybody who wants to make a decision between both.
