Hi

I need an indicator that shows the average of the daily (High + Low) /2 indicator for each day regardless of chart's time frame. I did this in Think or Swim (see pics below) but have not been able to code this in NinjaTrader. Chart should show same lines regardless of time frame.

Any help appreciated.

@traderbuddy,

maybe this one will do. it's the original ohl indicator from ninja trader with an added midline.

edit: if downloaded before 16:40 eastern time, please do it again.

This is close. It seems to be starting one candle too late and stopping one candle too soon. See sample below.

I highlighted with blue lines where I think mid- line should extend.

@traderbuddy,

as far as I know, tos and nt are a little bit different. I'll take ES with a 30 min chart as an example. trading starts at 9:30.

in nt the first candle is marked with 10 o'clock. in tos it would be 9:30. maybe that would explain why you think it's starting one candle too late.

also in nt you have an option for indicators to select "calculate on bar close". if set to "true", the indicator waits till the candle closes. if "false" it will update with every tick. so if you change it to false, then the candle doesn't stop too soon. but for that kind of indicator, I wouldn't recommend it.

wondering if someone can help me out here...

this mid line indicator (CurrentDayOHLM) is exactly what i'm looking for....except when I use a any session template that shows overnight hours then the reset of the mid line starts at the session break line between the RTH and ETH (16:15 for ES) instead of the start of the RTH (09:30 for ES).

if i use a session template to only show the RTH then it works as expected with a reset of the mid line at the start of RTH (09:30 for ES). This would work except I would really like to show the ETH on the chart I am using.

is there an easy fix? am i doing something wrong here?

Thanks,
Matt
