Regarding optimization...

I'm curious if I will be able to perform an aggregated optimization across multiple instruments without backtesting as a portfolio. From what I understand, as of now, when performing an aggregated optimization a more profitable instrument can bias the optimization. I would like the optimization to return the aggregated optimized results without this instrument biasing the results.

In other words, an aggregated optimization that provides the optimal parameters across a list of instruments but weighted toward the parameters which are most profitable for each individual instrument vs the most profitable instrument.

Some feedback for Ray - I think you should allow users to code their own broker connections. The explanation you gave in the webinar as to why you don't seemed dubious.

That is a silly argument. Ninjatrader is not in the business of selling brokerage, it is a software company.

I can only conclude that it is for commercial reasons, that is Ninjatrader expects monetary compensation from the brokers for the access, either per connection via NT or ongoing cut of the user's brokerage fees. Which if true is disappointing.

Bought it when Interactive Brokers was my broker. Nine months later moved to other brokers with better pricing, data feeds, features & markets than IB however Ninjatrader does not support any of those so my $1500 purchase was rendered useless.

Happy with Multicharts for now with a much bigger and constantly expanding list of supported brokers.

Another good webinar from Ray. How may CEOs of tech companies would come to do a full technical demo. Respect!

Very disappointed to hear that NT8 is not going to include portfolio analysis of strategies (in Strategy Analyser). This really needs to be addressed.

The thing I didn�t understand if NT8 was now going to do proper portfolio analysis for multiple instruments within a single strategy?

Same here. Biggest disappointment. May want to switch to Trade Blox Builder (multi-instrument, multi-timeframe aggregation) or MultiCharts (multi-instrument)

Holidays/special days management have been added to Session Manager, fine... will Ninja keep those days up to date just like rollover days, etc ...or will it be to fill at user's discretion only ?

Does anyone know if NT 8 has been able to advance their backtesting capabilities/technology to allow for using COBC (calculate on bar close)=False in the new Ninjatrader 8 version coming soon?
