NinjaTools

i like the "Custom Periods" NinjaTool idea, i am interested if i could use Renko type bars for choices with this tool?
Thanks for anyone's response about this tool or the ability to add Custom Periods to NinjaTrader.

I trade exclusively with Chart Trader, never with the DOM.

I"m using Click Trader from this vendor...

Tools and indicators for NinjaTrader

I really love it. On click and the order is placed where I click.

Left Shift + Left Click = Place a Long Order
Left Control + Left Click = Place a Short Order
Space = Close Order / Exit Position

This is the only indicator now on my chart (finally) that is not my code. Personally I don't like third party indicators/strategies and don't like to build my business on them, because one day perhaps the vendor will go away and the licensing validation will fail.

So, this indicator is on my list to rewrite into my own code. The only unknown is how to get the price at the click. I believe it may be possible to get the Y coordinate then somehow map that to a price.

If I am the first to rewrite this I will post it in the forum.

Otherwise, any ideas how to convert the click to a Y coordinate, then to a price?

Thx.

Awesome Vantojo >>> where you able to do some thing about this?

I was the one that invented this indicator...

I came up with the idea and logic and everything and just had that programmer write the code for it.

And I agree it may not be the best to depend on other programmers.

That programmer sometimes proved unreliable for other projects. He just suddenly stopped answering emails and not wanting to do projects correctly...or supporting the indicators.. etc etc..

So you are totally not wrong on not wanting to depend on certain programmers.

What were you able to find out though?? Were you able to make it better?

Let me know!

THANKS!

Yes, I was a professional coder/software architect for a long time, but not with C#. So, in the beginning I hired a Ninja C# developer. The price kept going up and he delivered unusable, buggy code. In the end I could not use any of it. I asked him to code to some standards and that was not done, not even naming standards for the objects. It was totally frustrating.

So, I started the long process of developing my own code, and am now very happy with the results....I have no proprietary code (except my own) in my trading system.

I found most of what I needed in shared Futures IO indicators...also specifically for click trader, which was to

1) find the price at the mouse click on the chart (I'm sure will not work in NT 8)
2) how to submit an OIF order directly without writing the OIF file to the hard drive

I am traveling internationally at the moment...but I believe that I posted some indicator code to the Elite section some time ago showing how to do both....

It will be a couple of weeks before I can do more than this reply...

:-)

Awesome -- it does sound like you were ableto make it better! Did you add more functionallity to it.. or just re-coded it yourself?

if I remember correctly the version I put on Big Mike (future io) just got the price at the mouse click then placed an order at that price.

the one I have for myself is a stand alone indicator but integrated with the rest of my trading system

Yea true >> Click Trader is very powerful -- I knew it when I created it because a trader should be able to place orders anywhere and instantaneously.

But now I use this:
ninza.co - Innovative Ordering

It is super powerful and has a one-time fee no licensing that will 'expire' or fail.

It has all the functionality of Click-Trader but without having to hit the Shift key or CTRL key. It can do market orders also but by clicking on the boxes below.

But I prefer doing market orders thru keyboard short cuts more than buttons.

ninza.co alternative

does anyone know of a good alternative to ninza.co for their chart trading tool called innovative trader. The current one puts their entire web address across my tool bar not a big fan of that so thought i would look for other options. thanks for any input.
