"Ryan,
It looks like you are having some connection issues here. It could be a firewall or internet security software, or the local connection you are using has an issue.
Are you connecting via wireless or network cable? Do you have a firewall or internet security software you recently installed, or is there a firewall attached to the network you are using?"
I have paid for a weeks internet access at the resort i am staying at and its driving me mad that i cannot get live data, i am connecting to a wireless net work here. Im not looking to trade but i had a few studies i wanted to under go while i had some free time for once

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
ipv6 showing that is perfectly normal and is zero cause for concern. You can disable ipv6 if you want in the TCP/IP settings of the network adapter, under properties.
Just to check, click on the Properties button as shown in the image above. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties. Make sure the buttons labelled "Obtain..." are selected. (Hardly anyone is using IPv6 yet.)
If that doesn't work, call the broker and present the error messages:
9/1/2012 8:17:56 AM|3|4|CQG.Adapter.SubscribeMarketDataResolve: DJTIC is not enabled for realtime quotes and trading.
9/1/2012 8:17:57 AM|3|4|CQG.Adapter.SubscribeMarketDataResolve: The metadata for F.US.QO.U12 has an invalid
ContractNumber. Please contact Customer Service.
Best of all, enjoy your vacation and take a complete break from trading!

Hi greenr, I see that you use CQG, I have no idea of which kind of connection they use, but maybe (guessing here) a firewall in this network that you are trying to connect is what's causing your problems...
Are you able to surf the web but NT is still not working?
When you use your web browser, you are using the port 80 to access servers (or 443 on secure webs like your bank account). My guess, is that your resort connection is blocking other ports, most likely to avoid people using other services like torrents or just for security reasons. CQG servers may require a port that is blocked for them. I know that this sux, but these things are very hard to solve because Hotels and Resorts don't know a damn s* about their network firewalls and things like that. Or maybe you are luky and find the IT guy.
CQG needs a very good internet connection because it contains all data from the exchange engine. As i see you are using a weak wifi, maybe try ethernet first? You could also try the repair network-button in your wifi adapter settings to get a new functional network adress.
You would really want wired connection for live trading anyway.
As Mike said ipv6 is not necessary (some even say it adds latency), you can disable all protocols besides ipv4.
I dont know what the actual fix was as i have tweeked alot of settings and had a few people on the case
Would like to thank all of you for your help during these frustrating times
Thanks again
