Anyone know of good video tutorial for C# language?
I am very grateful to Mike for taking the time to put up this site. This is like a candy store for me.

I am a somewhat newbie trader who wants to try programming some ideas into a strategy for NinjaTrader. I have been paying a guy to code my ideas so far, but now I want to learn to fish rather than having to buy a fish each day

I have MS Visual Studio but have no clue where to start.
Learn reading. Documentation.

Learning programming langagues from video is stupid - you will never see theoptions, context and explanations that a proper documentation gives you. If you do not know how to program at all, then a video also wont epxplain and teach you the context information that is actually relevant. Video is nice to get started - but that is similar to learn how to run a company by watching videos of managers making decision.

Get a good book, start working through it. And just ignore all tha NinjaScript talk - NinjaScript does not exist. if it looks like C#, follows C# grammar and is compiled by the C# compiler, it is C#.

I mostly agree, but I think lectures are helpful too. Are you claiming that getting a CS degree is meaningless?

NetTecture,
I would totally agree with you if someone wants to be a C# programmer, going about coding anything he or she wants beyond the limits of coding indicators. But if all you need in the near future is translating you trading ideas into indicators and so on, like Big Mike and Koganam said, you may not need all the details of the mighty C# to accomplish what you want in trading. All you need is NinjaScript which is, if I may say, a C# made easy for traders.
Your idea was the same I had when I started reading C# book to be able to code indicators. But since I discovered this thread, and attended March 28th webinar by Josh on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) site (NinjaTrader Strategy Development for New Programmers), I couldn’t be happier. I’ve already started editing existing codes, saved as different names, cut & paste from one to the other, to modify existing indicators. It has been a real eye opening and I’m enjoying it. Just like Josh said in the webinar, if I want to know more about a concept, I search help in NinjaTrader. Yesterday when I needed more clarification, I opened my C# book. I started just few days ago and so far I’m quite happy with this learning process.
Thanks for your input.
