I recently started testing using BetterRenko and BetterBricks (with Futures) and so far I think there is potential for this chart style. However, I've come across a problem with the gold futures and am wondering if anyone else has either encountered a similar problem or can offer some suggestions on what might be going on. I originally thought that the problem might have something to do with the price of gold (in thousands of dollars) because I do not have any problems with other futures instruments so I tried using silver which is also priced in thousands and it plotted fine.
I've attached 2 charts, the first is a chart using Ninja supplied Renko and the second is the BetterRenko. The chart was created from scratch using a template which created the BetterRenko chart with the BetterBricks chart type. The only thing I did to create the Ninja Renko chart was to change the Period Type in the Data Series. Every think else is exactly the same.
I use the CQG data feed from AMP futures and am running the latest release of Ninja as of this date. BetterRenko and BetterBricks was downloaded from the Download section and I don't know if those are the most current releases.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Euro/usd from this morning, bars are normal when it is less volatile but go crazy when the market was moving fast. MB trading feed so that might have something to do with it.
I was having trouble with GC 12-12 also and BetterRenko. I am using Mirus and ZenFire.
Mirus told me to not use the "MergeBackAdjusted" policy under Tools->Options->Data. They told me to use "DoNotMerge" and that seemed to fix the problem.
