@Fat Tails
how do I get this indi to plot 50% at the middle point of the prior 24/7 day I am using 24/7 default session template?
I have tried all settings and none will change 50% location
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
@wldman: Many disrespectful questions have contributed to improving my indicators, as some of them were quite useful.
Some of the indicators are not easy to apply, and sometimes I have made a mistake, as nobody is perfect .
I don't mind, will find a few minutes to answer. And you will see that this question has a particularly interesting answer, I am glad that somebody asked it.
The point is that July 4 is not an independant trading day, but all trades contracted on July 4 are for trade date July 5. This rule applies to all CME and NYMEX traded instruments.
trade executed July 3 -> trade date July 3 -> settlement July 5
trade executed July4 -> trade date July 5 -> settlement July 6
trade executed July 5 -> trade date July 5 -> settlement July 6
This means that on July 5, the previous trading day was July 3, and that the Fibs are calculated from this trading day.
The indicator takes into account the CME and NYMEX holiday schedule for 2012.
Never use a 24/7 Session Template - It is always false.
The second problem with your setting is that you calculate your pivots from daily data. Daily data typically refers to the ETH session from 3:30 PM CT to 3:15 PM CT.
You should then display the Fib lines according to that session they were calculated from, which can not be 24/7.
nope not to my good friend Harry, thats one thing I would never do. It was just a question on something I didn't understand. Many thx big guy @Fat Tails for your reply to me. It had me stumped (confused) on why it was plotting that way because I use the 50% as a reference point...........ttys
