Well Mr. Deux,

On a side note has anyone played around with Multi-Charts.Net it uses C# similar to NT, with a low learning curve converting code to it. Backtests are even done on tick by tick basis, which is a sour spot for me with NT.

Cheers,

SodyTexas

Hi

Indeed , backtesting with MC on a tick basis is extremely accurate . I have no use for any software that does not provide this for backtesting.

I find it to be a must for data backtesting and optimization.

Hi @NinjaTrader
Happy New Year
See your last post in this thread was November. Was just curious if anything new as far as the new release of Ninjatrader is concerned?
On a side note have noticed on the NT support forum about Beta testing that is recommended to submit a request,(in hopes of being a chosen one)
Why not just put a public Beta release out there for all of us to try?(ok beyond the obvious) you don't want a million support emails saying "this and that" aren't working. But isn't that what you would want(as many users as possible, checking it out frontwards and backwards?

Thanks in advance

@learning0101,

A couple of "NinjaTrader Partners" are promising to release their NT8 version plug-ins in January 2015, fwiw.. But then again that was supposed to happen in November of 2013.

Personally, I think NT8 may be dreadful because most or non of the custom stuff will work without a re-write, a major setback for current users. This will be a bonanza for NT "Consultants" and the Third Parties re-writing their stuff. Perhaps many would stay with NT7 until it it is no longer supported or simply transition to MC.

Cheers..

While we have advanced the NinjaScript framework considerably allowing developers to truly build rich and integrated applications, most scripts that fall inside what we officially support will have minimal tweaks required….not much different than what we did when we advanced NinjaScript from NinjaTrader version 6.5 to version 7.

Happy New Year to you as well!

NinjaTrader is out of primary development. What we are doing right now is:
  • Heavy internal QA work
  • Performance profiling --> Improving memory utilization and reducing CPU cycles
  • Fit and finish
  • Help Guide completion

In short, we are making sure that the product is up to spec and clearing out as many bugs as we can find before we are comfortable labeling it as beta. We will release to a smaller group first before unleashing it to the general public. I don’t have a specific beta release data as of today but it’s much sooner than later.

Hello Ninjatrader I have a question. For users who wish to stick with NT7 for the time being, how long will you guys support updating the NT7 platform so it can be used in any future exchange updates that may occur and require a platform update?

There are several NT8 webinars on futures.io (formerly BMT), please check them out. They contain a great deal of useful information.

I am glad taking time to do it right. From everything I have seen this is a big update. With all of our money on the line I personally want to be as robust and bug free as possible even if that takes more time.

This is promising!!
