While I (mostly) agree with the above, in sentiment, I tire of software products being rushed to deployment in a deficient state. I applaud NT for working to deliver a quality, viable, stable product.

If, however, NT8 ends up being functionally deficient and error-laden after the extended wait, it will be a very sad day.

Well Mr. Deux,

In one of your "introductions" to the fabled NT8 you said "it will definitely be out before end 2014". Today is in fact past that date.

I am waiting patently, but grow agitated at the prolonged release of NT8 Beta. Any update on the release? I even opened a brokerage account for the sole reason of getting my hands on NT8 Beta as soon as possible; now wondering if that was a mistake.

I know that you are most likely not prepared to release a set date as of yet, but any general time-frame would be appreciated before I seek other alternative methods for automating my trading. I am sure I am speaking for a large number of your faithful NT users.

On a side note has anyone played around with Multi-Charts.Net it uses C# similar to NT, with a low learning curve converting code to it. Backtests are even done on tick by tick basis, which is a sour spot for me with NT.

This post is not meant to be a bash on NT, I love the product and have several Life-time licences, just getting tired waiting for progression of the platform as so many of the competitors are bypassing NT.

Cheers,

SodyTexas

100% agree, I prefer quality over speed any day, but how long is too long?

For example:

Many of you know I am a fan of Point and Figure, but cannot trade it with Ninjatrader.

Please fix Point & Figure implementation - [AUTOLINK]NinjaTrader[/AUTOLINK] Support Forum

This issue was brought to the attention of NT May 2011, and the fix was to be implemented in a update to NT7, but never was. Ray mentioned that the fix would be corrected in NT8. We are approaching four years for a fix to a charting method that is extremely popular among veteran traders. It is my opinion that this is a FAIL on the part of Ninjatrader. Whats your thoughts; is this a quality issue or a lack of addressing the needs of NT users?

I certainly hope not.

What are you currently using?

I use PnF using an implementation by Richard Todd and it seems to work.
Do you have an example of a current chart of ES that shows the correct PnF bars?

Thanks

I follow the Jeremy du Plessis method via "The Definitive Guide to Point and Figure", CQG Integrated Client also, follows the same rules. I don't trade ES and don't know the proper box size for ES, but I do trade GC (CQG = GCE) and will attach a image of that.

FYI, CQG Integrated Client is expensive.

Cheers,

SodyTexas

GC (CQG = GCE) and will attach a image of that.

Here is the NT PnF chart and the Richard Todd PnF.

The NT settings are
Last
PointAndFigure
Tick
1
12
3
HighsAndLows.

The other Pnf is
35 Tick with 3 box reverse.

I'm not sure either one are what you need but I wanted to compare them for my curiosity.

My issue is not setting up the chart but the session breaks with Ninjatrader. Take a look at my first post today and follow the link, it will explain my trepidation with PnF and Ninja.

I remember someone making a joke about Windows 10 being out before NT8...

While I am happy with NT7, there are quiet a few features teased for NT8 that I would like and would make a difference to my trading.
