@benrock

Some were professional programmers before they became involved with Ninja Trader.

Others (like me) learned from;

1. Information, examples and videos available in the Ninja help section, on their website and in their you tube channel.

2. Taking a basic indicator and learning to add code to change colors , add arrows etc. (@Fat Tails is like a kid at Christmas if you add your own arrows and colors instead of asking him to )

3. Becoming an Elite member of futures.io (formerly BMT). It opens up a whole world of resources to you.

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

A few of the code writers are professional software engineers. However, most of them - and this includes myself - are autodidacts. What is needed is a basic comprehension of mathematics and/or computer science.

Then you just need to get yourself a course in basic C# programming, work through that course, do all the exercises, and then continue to apply your knowledge to coding indicators and strategies.

It is easiest to first modify existing code, and then proceed to writing own code.

If you already had a strong dislike for computers and/or mathematics, then you better hire someone to do it.

Or ask @Fat Tails to do it for free... he'll cuss and spit and tell you to learn to do it yourself... but invariably he will cave and write it for you .... he can't help it... he's just a good guy ... and there's nothing he can do to change it ...

Have a nice Easter Fat Tails!

As I think was mentioned to you in your last thread, start by looking at all the webinars on the site that involve coding, start by taking apart the hundreds of strategies on the site, and read them line by line.

If you have any programming background at all, this should be more than enough to get you well on your way.

If you have zero programming background, then you will also need to buy a few books on Amazon on the basics of C# programming. You can also find endless examples of code on google.

If all of this is too much, then don't try to be a programmer. Pay someone else for their time.

Mike
