I had an idea to create an indicator that would instead of visually react to price or value changes musically or aurally. So instead of bars drawn there would be tones played. So how would that work? Use a largest bar range as the musical range high and low and extrapolate the tick movement range/12 * octaves you want. So when the price/value moves though the tick movement a tone is played according to the frequency range for that price/value range. That's the easy part. Now we can put effects on the tones according to other market params, e.g. Volume would affect well volume of the tone, light cutoff play would indicate a some other indicator value. Does any of this make sense?

Thanks

+1 for creativity.

So when someone says "listen to the market", you can really mean it.

cool Nailz...I thought of something like that awhile back...a certain tone played to keep me longer in a trade before it reversed and I had to close the position....I just do the visual thing now on the oscillator setting as it goes back towards zero or just take a certain profit target to keep it simple before I bail.
Definately programable...

Sounds like fun!!! Might want to go with musical clips depending on what's going on. Like a horse race start when a market has a break out.

now you're missing the point. the idea is to have this indicator paint a picture of the market with sounds so that we can than maybe recognize breakouts or other patterns from these sound patterns.

I'm not sure that's necessary, I can hear the market getting ready for a breakout by listening to my computer's fan accelerating and decelerating. (Though perhaps this only works with NT.... )
