I have downloaded all the indicators for Ninja to obtain the correct pivots, etc. However, none of the output matches the published data for the ES or the 6E. I have my charts set at PST. This wasn't a problem when I was with TradeStation.
Here's the list of indicators I have:
anaPivotsDailyV38 plus all the previous versions
anaPivotZonesDailyV38
Pivots

I'm using CQG as my data provider with Ninja.

I use ToTheTick pivot zones and these match their published data.

I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

Please use appropriate session templates and settings as explained in the following threads:

Your local time has no impact on pivots, as the indicators take all information from the session templates, which are always defined in exchange time.

If you still have questions afterwards, please post a chart and a screenshot with your indicator settings.

Also let me know, whether you use ETH or RTH pivots and whether you make use of the settlement price or the last traded price during the ETH or RTH session.

Thanks for the reply. I will read through the posts. I'm using ETH with settlement price per what I was told on the Ninja Support Forum. I'll read through your links carefully to see if what I'm doing wrong.

Also, out of all the indicators that I list in my original post, which one is the best for the ES and which one for the 6E? I thought they would all calculate the same outputs but they don't.

The SessionPivots and PivotZones calculate identical values. You will get correct pivots for your charts provided that

-> your historical daily data from CQG has the settlement price
-> you use the correct session template in line with trading hours as per contract specifications
-> you use the indicator with appropriate settings

Unlike other pivot indicators, it will even calculate the holiday sessions correctly.

These are key issues:

(1) The SessionPivots displays the prior day's high, low and close. You should check these against

-> official data from CME
-> daily data in your historical data base

with the indicator set to DailyBars mode. Only with correct historical data, will the indicator be able to calculate correct pivots, otherwise it is garbage in -> garbage out.

(2) Most important. Take the time to create an appropriate session template for each instrument that you trade. Go to the instrument manager and select this template as the default template for your instrument.
From then on, only open charts with <instrument settings>. Never use the session template 24/7, except if you love to have false pivots displayed.

I didn't know that the 24/7 session was incorrect for the ES! That's what I was told to use months ago when I started with Ninja. I presume that for each session selection i.e. CME FX Futures ETH, that the hours that come up in the Session Manager are correct.
I reset the session on my charts and corrected the inputs for the indicator but the output still comes up wrong. I'm using a comparison from someone on the Ninja board who posted a jpg of their chart for Friday's ES. I also checked against mypivots. I don't have the CME data from Thursday to calculate Friday to use as user-defined inputs. But assuming the indicator is correct and the session is correct, it should spit out the right numbers and it isn't.
Perhaps CQG doesn't deliver the correct data. I will have to check this tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.

Wait - I made a mistake here - I assumed the indicator could calculate back to previous days and it isn't - I just noticed that.
I'm going to input the CME values from Friday tonight for both the ES and the 6E. I'll check against someone else's chart tomorrow and see if they're correct.

Thanks for your help.

You can check the data yourself:

-> The historical data manager allows you to edit daily data. Have a look what is in there.
-> The SessionPivots indicator displays HLC of the higher day allowing you to check.

Post a chart and your settings, and I will immediately tell you what is wrong.

These are my pivots. I use RTH for ES 03-12 and ETH for 6E 03-12

I compared the values with the settlement data from CME website. There is a minor data related difference.
CME displays Friday's high for 6E 03-12 as 1.3291, whereas Kinetick EOD supplies a value of 1.3292. That is a 1-tick difference, which will impact the main pivot PP by 0.33 ticks before it is rounded to the next tick. Minor differences like this are always possible, if your data supplier does not exactly have the same data as CME.

And do not let yourself be confused by my strange session template for 6E. It suits my needs, even if the close of the RTH session is not defined as a break.

Here's a jpg of the ES 5 minute with the PivotZones indicator using CME inputs.
